Anyone experience issues with their operational buttons on the unit from time to time? I've noted, and it's becoming a worry that the open/eject, play etc buttons will not operate but no such issues with the remote !!! :rolling:
Also, when I can get them to work, they need to be pressed very firmly to get a response! Anyone else experience this?
Obviously it's a mechanical issue...for those in the 'know' can this be fixed quickly over the SCR or importers counter? don't want to open mine & tinker with it as it's still under warranty.

I've noticed a similar problem with my eject button. I was thinking about opening it up and seeing whats going on, but the eject button on the remote will suffice for now :)

...so that's 3 of us with that problem...I wonder how many others??? You're right we have the remote but nothing is more annoying than when swapping disks' having to go in seach of the remote to press eject when the button is righnt in front of you!!!

Hi jokiin, just wondering if you read this post, if I take back my player to SCR, will this be considered a warranty repair issue or would they swap it for a new one?
Also, in your honest opinion, what's the better player, the Z330 or the 989?

If your player is more than 30 days old it would be a repair, less than that they can swap it but you would need paperwork to support that. I was at the service department yesterday and I actually asked the techs there if they had seen many with the front panel buttons not working, neither of the guys that I spoke with could recall any player being returned with this issue. The failure rate on this model has been quite low so not really enough to be able to clarify if any problem is typical.
As to the Z330 v XMS989 debate, they both have their strengths and weaknesses, the Z330 has had better firmware support by far, the XMS989 is still an ongoing battle. The Z330 has more connection options, more outputs. Personally I like the look of the XMS989 better and it has a nicer remote, once the firmware update happens for the XMS989 I would say it would be closer, however even then I would have to say that the Z330 will still have the edge.

Thanks jokiin...re: service department can I take it there myself or do they expect to receive it via SCR? Personally I'd rather take it to them myself, especially after what happened before ;)

The service centre don't actually deal with customers over the counter, depending on where you are located I may be able to do something to speed things up for you though. Send me a PM with your full contact details, invoice number etc and I'll see what I can do to help.
