AN EROTICALLY CHARGED NEW THRILLER THAT'S "A LITTLE BIT 'WILD THINGS' AND A TAD 'I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER'" - TNT Rough Cut
New to Cliftmont Country Club? Relax.
You have the whole summer to soak it all in - tennis, golf, sailing, rippled hunks, awesome babes, jealousy, insanity, murder - name your sport!
Check out who's checked in to the most exclusive playground of the rich and infamous.
And if your not 'in', You're not in.
From the director of 'Pet Sematary' comes a sexy, stylish and sinister new thriller where everyone has killer looks. And one even has the looks of killer.

AUDIO/VISUAL

The Dolby Digital 5.1 audio on this DVD isn't mind blowing, but does what is required of it.
The mains and centre seemed to do most of the work though and the rears would jump into action during the more dramatic scenes. The rears would sometimes offer subtle rear effects too and the sub would give the occasional murmur, but nothing too exciting.
Music sounded fine and was often used well to build up to a bit of a scare. Speech was fine and showed no signs of problems with clarity or being in sync.
The In Crowd has an aspect of 1.85:1 widescreen and is 16:9 enhanced.
We are treated to another nice video transfer from Roadshow here.
Colours are very bright and clean and the blacks and shadow detail are just dandy!
Flesh tones are natural looking and the picture is very sharp and smooth with no real signs of imperfections such as marks, blemishes or grain.

EXTRA FEATURES

Audio Commentary by Susan Ward & Lori Heuring.-
This Audio Commentary by the 2 main female leads in the movie is definitely worth a listen. The 2 girls seem to be having a great time and in doing so make the commentary fun to listen to. They talk a lot about the filming, the cast, the crew, the locations, the characters and also talk about many fun things that happened
on set during filming. This really is a fantastic commentary folks and is a great addition to this disc.
Deleted Scenes -
There are 3 deleted scenes on this disc ranging in length from .54 minutes to 1.42 minutes.
There is a short text explanation of the reason each scene was deleted from the final cut of the movie.
The In Crowd (Cast & Crew) -
The main screen for this extra feature has listed the names of 13 of the main cast members and their characters in the movie. It also has the Director, Producer and Writer listed.
There are short interviews with 4 of the main cast members from the movie:
Susan Ward (Brittany Foster) 1.46 minutes
Lori Heuring (Adrien Williams) 2.40 minutes
Matthew Settle (Matt Curtis) 1.24 minutes
Nathan Bexton (Bobby) 2.05 minutes
These interviews are comprised of clips of what I am guessing where longer more detailed interviews. The clips are divided into section in which the actors talk about the character they play, the other actors, the other characters and the film.
Publicity Gallery -
In this section you will find the following options:
Theatrical Trailer -
A 1.53 minute trailer presented in widescreen
with Dolby Digital 2.0 audio. This trailer does sell the movie well but at the same time
gives away a lot. This is definitely one feature best left until you have seen the movie
Photo Gallery -
In here you will find 39 screen shots from the movie.
The shots mainly focus on 4 of the main characters but there are shots of other cast and crew members throughout the section.
Music-Only Soundtrack -
I only watched about 45 mins of the movie
with the Music-only soundtrack before I had to turn it off and I can honestly say that it is not a feature that grabs your attention especially with the complete silence you have to sit through between song tracks which can sometimes last a good few minutes.
Some of the music is good and it is a great feature if you want to listen to a particular song from the movie without the dialogue over the top but other than that I cannot see a real reason for it. I myself didn't mind it but it is not a feature for everyone.

OVERALL

I'd hardly heard of this movie prior to receiving the review DVD and seeing it promoted as "A LITTLE BIT 'WILD THINGS' AND A TAD 'I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER'" had me a little sceptical as to the quality of the movie.
Well, THE IN CROWD had me watching from the beginning to the end and I did enjoy it
as I'm sure others will if they can get past the fact that it is another teen thriller and take it for what it is.
I don't want to give too much away so all I will say is that while it has one cliche' after another and being predictable, this movie will still stand up against any other movie of it's genre.
This is not your typical slasher movie so don't expect a high body count and thrilling death scenes but it does provide a few twists here and there that save it from being boring.
If you enjoy movies like "I Know What You Did Last Summer" you should enjoy this(just don't expect a lot of slicing and dicing accompanied by a high body count).
Throw in some quality extra features like the ones on this disc including a very enjoyable audio commentary and you have a DVD that is definitely worth renting if not purchasing
for your collection.
