Does anyone know where i can buy a Gameboy Advance SP for less than $188? That seems to be the cheapest price from all the shops i have checked and no shops seems to be willing to negotiate.

Gidday Moby70,
not an answer to your post (sorry!) but outta curiosity, what do you think of the brightness level of the backlight?
I saw an SP in EB a while ago, and while the shop was brightly lit, I still expected the display on the SP to be a lot brighter.
If you're angry about me hijacking your thread, let me know, and I'll go hide in a tray of cat litter for a while!:D

I'm furious with the hijacking!! But to respond to your post. Next time you're at an EB wink at the manager. Maybe rub his leg. Then suggest he takes you into the store room. Once there (make sure he brought the GBA-SP in with him) turn the lights off and switch on the gba-Sp. You'll see how much light comes out in these conditions. Its fantastic. But you're right. In store conditions make the light seem useless. Its frontlit remember. If you know a cool EB sales guy He'd prabably let you see the thing running in the dark. Just dont ask when theyre busy. And you probably shouldnt wink.
Anyway. Buy the SP it rocks!! No idea where ist cheaper. Maybe pay full price but get a good deal on a few games.

For the moment, I guess 2nd hand or knowing someone with a staff discount at different places is the best you can do.

Why didn't the idiots put a light in built when GBA was first released, oh i know why, to make us poor losers buy more nintendo products :rolling:

I have done alot of research between the SP and the normal Advance, and the SP beats it in all avenues, especially the rechargable battery, which means you never have to buy new batteries (kinda like charging a mobile phone battery), and yeah in k-mart and other stores they have the normal GB advance in a stand for demonstration but there are 2 lights directly above it which can be very misleading to people, cause without those lights you cant see anything. The SP with the light switched on is very clear and is exactley like playing a hand held version of the PS ONE, but off course when your out and it is bright you can switch the light off, which saves battery life. Sound is better, size is better, you just cant go wrong.
But Damn i still cant find it cheaper then $188 not even on ebay, made lots of calls yesterday afternoon, and they all said the price will drop in about six months....who can wait six months????
I guess i'll just have to keep looking!

Considering Grace Bros charge 15% above everybody else; this special should make their prices just about right. :p

Dang!
It worked on me!! Now I gotta go out and get ANOTHER Gameboy!!
Glad it worked out Moby70! Still not sure about how it would fit in your hand with the old game carts from the original B & W GB sticking out the front like that....

With the new Advance games available i would never go back to the old catridges, it defeats the purpose of having a 32 bit system!

Totally agree with you...but Metroid 2 DOES kinda do the old system some justice!!!:)
Actually, I had more enjoyment out of that than Metroid Fusion!
