Blockbuster ex-rental DVD clearance

I've been told by Blockbuster staff at Indooroopilly and Toowong (Brisbane) that they will have a clearance from/on Australia Day (26 January). Not sure if this applies elsewhere. There will be ex-rental copies of Star Wars and Swordfish, and apparently many others...

Cool. I'll check with my local Blockbuster stores.

They usually have an ex-rentals section - I'm
sure they get picked over fairly regularly, but
it's good to know that there may be a dumping
of newer stuff soon.

My local store have a number of titles @ $24.95 including Swordfish, Bridget Jones's Diary, etc.

Not sure if that the sale, I never buy anything there before. :p

$24.95 is their usual price for recent ex-rentals.

It is a good alternative to buying them new
(assuming the rental is the same as the retail version).
As long as you can wait a while before
they release them for sale.

They give a 30 day warranty as well, in case you
have picked up a scratched one (but you can
see that before you have left the counter!)

I have bought a few ex-rentals from them
with no dramas.
