Hi all,

I've had the zenzonic 330 for few months now and have experienced playback problems with some XVID encoded files where the video constantly drops frames. It's almost like playback is at a slower framerate [eg. 15fps] rate so it continually jerks the image. The audio (mostly mp3) playback is correct.

Playback of the original files on my PC show no signs of the problem.

These files are burnt to DVD using TDK branded -R or -RW and imation DVD+R x4 disc.

I thought it may have been a problem with the DVD media i used, but i can playback the files using my PC's Pioneer DVD drive without any problems.

So this doesn't make me think the media is the problem as that's now 2 different disc brands with 3 different recording media formats.

A friend of mine also has the 330, with the older firmware (I've the newer firmware) and he too has experienced the same problems with the discs i have loaned.

GSPOT doesn't give any errors when i check these files but I have read on some forums that users of the 330 as well as other mp4 players have experienced jerky/stuttering playback problems and that XVID 1.00 and 1.01 where the birate goes over 1mb, though the problem i am having occurs throughout the duration of the file.

Any tips/suggestions would be appreciated as this problems makes playback unwatchable with my 330.

thanks

See this thread on the Zensonic forum, http://www.zensonic.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=252 related to jerky playback with xvid 1+ with the 330.
And this thread http://forums.eyo.com.au/showthread.php?t=69035 with the same thing on another player.
Should help you correct your problems.

thanks for the info, much appreciated.

i did a quick forum check and read about V1 and V1.1 problems, but there was no resolution to it .. fingers crossed this does the trick.

thanks

FROM :- http://www.zensonic.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=252

All the jerky xvids I have encountered (usually encoded in xvid 1 or greater) have been fixed by using
http://www.moitah.net/MPEG4Modifier-1_1_0.zip
Tick the 'Unpack' checkbox in the 'packed bitstream' area and save the avi (takes a couple of minutes).
You'll need the .net framework installed to run the application as its made with C#

It worked a treat!!!

i ticked the "unpack" box, DELETED the 2 references from within the "userdata" box. SAVED the xvid file under a different name (very important not to delete the original file until you're sure:), Burnt the file to DVD, popped it in my Z330 and it played back at the correct framerate....YAY!

am a very happy camper..... although this now means i'll have to go over all the files that do this and re-burn everything to DVD again :(

thanks for your help

I have seen people say "change it", however deleting it seems to work for me.
