Make association "stuff-up"

Me missus' is having 'puter probs'... I'll let her tell the story...

Thought I'd change the icon of jpg to make viewing a list of files easier. So I opened up winExplorer->Folder options->file types and found 2 listings for JPEG images. Changed the icon, no worries then for some dumb reason changed the association from IE to irfanview.

First time I looked at an html file, the jpg's didn't show...e.g.... you can see the empty rectangle where the jpg should be. Went back to ->file types, changed every thing back exactly as it was. Warmed up Rob's computer and double checked, yes, both show
the same listings.

Here are the symptoms:
1. html files on my hdd...no jpg's view. (BTW, checked image directories, all images are properly filed)
2. Online html pages all images view.
3. With my other hdd and IE all files and images view perfectly with all files from both hdd.

Sooo I guess it's a OS prob, not browser? Should I reload win98 over the top of the present win98?

It's probably some MIME extension type thing. If it's not too much trouble, the easiest thing to do is probably to reinstall Internet Explorer. One of the Advanced... installation options is to restore all associations to Internet Explorer.

Anything I should know about reinstalling Internet Explorer? I see no way to uninstall first so do I just do an overlay?
