Has anyone bought this machine ... any thoughts etc?
I have had mine for 3 months ... I only bought it because I wanted component video switching.
The only problem I noted was that it deteriorates S-Video signal from the foxtel box.
To explain, when I connect my foxtel box to my projector using s-video it works fine ... When I connect the foxtel box s-video through the receiver to the projector it intermittently loses most of the colour information ... s-video from a DVD player worked fine through the receiver ... I swapped cables and even input channels on the receiver with the same results ... dvd s-video is fine, foxtel box s-video through the receiver is dodgy.
This is not a problem with my setup now as I am using a component output from the foxtel box (and from dvd player) through the receiver which works fine.
There are no bass and treble controls (mind you I haven't fully read the manual) which may be an issue depending on your speaker system. I have the pioneer bookshelf speaker system (with sub-woofer) and it sounds fantastic to me.
If you are not after component video switching, there would probably be much better value in some other models / brands.

Is there a lot of difference between this Pioneer model and the Denon 1804 or 2015 and Marantz 5400, price is better.
