As discussed in the main Pioneer DV-676A thread here:
http://forums.eyo.com.au/showthread.php?p=724362

This is a follow on from posts in that thread:

The Pioneer DV-676A currently does not have Divx subtitle support. The DV-676A's sister model in Europe - the Pioneer DV-575 (http://www.pioneer-eur.com/eur/product_detail.jsp?product_id=8533&taxonomy_id=62-84) - has just received a firmware update to support subtitles (http://www.pioneer-eur.com/eur/products.jsp?category=divx_firmware&category_id=222&taxonomy_id=62-84) as discussed on the Divx.com forums (http://forums.divx.com/viewtopic.php?topic=61926&forum=21), so we know that subtitles on the DV-676A is possible.

If you are interested in the Pioneer DV-676A if it had subtitle support, or have a Pioneer DV-676A and would like subtitle support, please respond to this poll. If you own another Divx player with/without subtitle support and want to comment, I think that would be welcome too.

Also if you can provide good reasons for Pioneer to add subtitle support to the DV-676A , please post them :).

What seems most unusual is that the Pioneer is meant to be a DivX certified player, yet subtitle support is a requirement for certification, don't know how they qualify then.
