Toshiba SDK-320 "Check Disk" Problems

Hi All...

I'm relatively late into the Home DVD scene. I've had a DVD ROM drive since the first 1x speed drives were around, but never had DVD player until now.

This player was orginally a Malaysian Unit.
The Firmware says its R3, Version 1.500, But it Plays R4 Mostly Fine, except for Shrek and Perfect Storm (So Far).

I've been reading that theres work arounds for the particular "Check Disk" Error, but I'm yet to find a way that works.

Can someone talk me though it, or does anyone own one of these Units.

I have a SDK 320 as well. I have not tried Perfect Storm but I cannot play Shrek R4 as well. You will find that it will not play Disc 1 of Terminator 1 SE and Robbie Williams - Where Egos Dare Concert as well. Both R4.
I got mine from Malaysia as well.
The way I got around the "Check Disc" error was I went and bought a $199.00 DVD player which plays everything that you throw at it. It would be great if there was a way to get around the "Check Disc" problem as I can see a big difference in picture and sound quality when I compare the 2 players.

Did you just purchase the SDK 320 new?

I Bought the Unit 2nd Hand for 175 Dollars...

And for most movies, The Picture is Awesome and the Audio is Excellent.

I was just hoping to find a resolution.

I believe it may be possible to flash the unit to help fix some problems..
