I'm still shopping for a "big" screen ... This could be the one!
link- read
http://www.pioneer-eur.com/eur/help.jsp?editorial_id=12364
(and the Pioneer Euro DVD player of the year as well DV-668AV-S with HDMI
out - Around AU$1080)
Is the DV-668AV-S available in Australia ? It is not on their au. web site
....- Connecting the plasma and DVD player via the HDMI link produces an
awesome picture according to review panel (all digital connection). Pioneer
is scooping the awards with its latest gear, can't wait to see it here!
(Street date=Dec 04 for 5th gen. plasma screen)

Pricing...
Doing price comparisons on a Swiss "best price" site
(http://en.toppreise.ch/prod_48645.html) the 43 inch is $7420 based on AU$1
= 0.577 Euro (correct as of 3rd Nov 04), which is about what the 4th gen was
going for. Trevor Lees has posted some great "run out" deals on the current
models - $6000 for the 43 inch if I remember correctly.

I worked it out one of these plasma's would get to 50% brightness (i.e. time
to replace) in about 20 years of viewing (on for a few hours a day) which is
fine by me.

Anyone know anything about the DVD player ?

Anyone else looking at the Pioneer Generation 5 series, due this christmas ?

I Wonder if that would also mean al loss of: 25% brightness - 10yrs
12.5% brightness - 5yrs
6.25% brightness - 2.5 yrs
Just a thought.

Dezza.
