this show was the reason I purchased Pay-Tv in the first place - it is the
benchmark of renovation/restoration shows and provides in-depth guidance on
how things are done

Yesterday morning I got an email from a net-form I attend letting me know
the show has been replaced by some bullshit gardening show

I called their retail sellers (austar in my case) and asked if it could be
that the show has been shifted - they literally had no idea about the show
OR that it had been axed - they put me on hold and checked the lifestyle
channel website to get their info ...... then returned and said ummmm I
can't find anything on their site about a show called This Old House so it
must've gone

I have cancelled my subscription - emails to the show's Australian
distributor received no response.

You must be joking. While it's interesting enough, it's also a vehicle for
Kevin, Steve, Norm, Tom et al to engage in a LOT of gratuitous product
promotion, many of which are either unavailable or unsuitable here.

And you bought pay TV for ONE program, and cancelled when it was removed?
Amazing!

Anyway, you can always get your fix at http://www.thisoldhouse.com/toh/

1. If you got Austar / Foxtel only for This Old House - well your nuts!

As I am a This Old House Fan I know how you feel, but the current season of
This Old House - The Bermuda House finished up approx 2 - 3 weeks ago, the
currently project The Carlisle Project is available on the web and I'm sure
it will been shown in due course.

As someone else said, you can get a fix online at www.thisoldhouse.com

According to the Foxtel TV guide This Old House is on 7th Nov at 3:00pm for
2 hours and repeat ever week at the same time until Earlier Dec (Guide only
shows 30 days ahead). I also checked Austar and it's the same as well.

Simon.

working in the field of restoration architecture I had cause to purchase it
for the one show - actually two shows, but the other - New Yankee Workshop -
is on its 5th repeat - also pathetic for a show that has been running 18
yrs.

I have all TOH magazines and associated books and am a regular at their www.

The new show promised to be a killer as the property has been purchased by
TOH, and expanded to 1 hour.

TOH finished two Mondays ago, but was followed by a single episode of Inside
This Old House - a repeat.

The products that are available in the US are relevant as the emerging Free
Trade Agreement will effect my industry - I use the show to also explore
what will be available here in the future for commercial reasons. eg. In the
States there is a reconstituted (tyre) rubber roofing product that looks
exactly like slate. Sure they have some crap stuff too, but it is a great
way to see what's new over there.

If this makes me nuts then I am

along with having a full library of movies

I am disspointed to loose this show too, very interesting to watch. Can't
belive with 2 lifestyle channels that they needed to axe it.

thanks for the heads-up

I will do what I can to get them on DVD

FYI I have every magazine they ever produced - they are brilliant especially
when compared to Australian House and Garden and even Period Home Renovator
etc.
