The sony amp craps all over the panasonic amp. Power is not all but, panasonic limitations are bit of concern. THe sony has 275Watts power compared to a ordinary 135 Watts for the panasonic. The ratings listed by panasonic use nominal impedence of 6 to get to their 100w rating where as sony uses 8.

Buy the new model of the Sony it is the STR-DB795 and it's in black or
silver. True 7.1 & Upconverts composite signal to s-video etc. etc

It's available in OZ now. And can be ordered through any Sony dealer.
Avoid the temptation to buy the 790. Even though it's cheap at $599,
that's just to clear it out for the new model.

I have the STR-DB795 and it's great! Ballsy sound!
