Read a little while back Optus is actually ramping up to roll out
infrastructure for just such things. With their own DSlams they can dictate
speeds, which should easily be able to offer paytv over adsl, rather than
using fibre optic cable. Would not surprise me if Telstra look to offer such
a service in the furure also. With access to all home, and distance being
the only drawback, its prob the best and cheapest way to get paytv to more
homes. Time will tell i guess.
