Sorry guys - I'm sure this has been well covered, but with the mix of
satellite boxes also being discussed, I'm still unclear...
For Foxtel Digital CABLE, do BOTH of the supplied boxes allow for Component
out,over the SCART connector?
I'm getting hooked up in a week or so, and I want to ensure that I have
component out for my TV. I'd hate to accept a box only to find out that it
doesn't output component.
Thanks in advance!

UEC cable which I have is only SVIDEO as far as I know. That is how I hooked
it up anyway. SCART --> SVIDEO adaptor.
Think you would be hard pressed to see much difference between SVIDEO and
COMPONENT unless you have a massive TV. Plasma etc.

No, the UEC box currently does NOT output component, and its unkown if it
ever will. The Pace box has had a software update that is currently being
rolled out that allows component via SCART with the appropriare adaptor.
Pace... RF/composite/S-Video/RGB/Component
UEC... RF/composite/S-Video/RGB
Hopefully a UEC update will allow for component in the future and all this
confusion will vanish.

Good luck trying to request a specific box.
Danny.
I have the UEC (cable version).
I use the RGB to Component convertors that are available around the traps,
Jaycar
have them. Works well.

Thanks everyone for the responses.
I told FOXTEL when they called (after my internet booking) that I will only
accept an installation that outputs Component Video. If they try to install
a UEC box, I will have my wife cancel the installation (I'll be at work 8-P)
and we will also cancel our existing cable subscription (about 6 years old
now) unless they supply the PACE box.
My TV (not bothering hooking up Foxtel to the LCD projector) is an "old" ie
4 yr old Panasonic 119cm RP WS 100hz/Progressive model. It has two sets of
Component in...and I'm not going to settle for anything less. Amazingly the
RRP for the TV was $7,500 when I bought it...the latest incarnation sells
for about $2,900 or less! That's progress for ya!
