2001 NEW ZEALAND FILM AWARDS</h3>

FROM UNIVERSAL PICTURES VIDEO</b>

The smash hit comedy STICKMEN ‘chalked up’ four awards this week at the 2001 New Zealand Film Awards. STICKMEN won Best Director (Hamish Rothwell), Best Actor (Scott Wills), Best Supporting Actress (Lu-Anne Gordon) and Best Screenplay (Nick Ward).

Universal Pictures Video will release STICKMEN on VHS & DVD in Australia on November 21.
The box office results and cult following in New Zealand meant Stickmen was already set to clean up, and ‘snooker’ the opposition at the annual awards. </center>

Thomas, Jack and Wayne are Stickmen, best mates who play an ongoing high stakes game of pub pool that sees them touring the darker side of the pub scene. They like nothing more than to have a beer in one hand, a pool cue in the other, a coin on the table and to live their lives in the same manner they play pool. The stakes are increased when the Stickmen enter into a pool tournament run by vicious crime boss ‘Daddy’ who gets them into a whole rack of trouble.
STICKMEN stars Robbie Magasiva, Paolo Rotondo, Scott Wills, Simone Kessell, Anne Nordhaus, Enrico Mammarella and Luanne Gordon
