I've made the decision that I'm going to replace the VP before
the end of the month, as the insurance is due then and rego is
due a couple of weeks later. I've spent more on it in the
last 12 months than it is worth and it's only going to get
worse...

I want to buy an AU LPG-only wagon, and was intending to go
for a series III. So far, the only one I can find in Newcastle
is a Series II (2001).

How much difference is there between AUII and AUIII? I've got
to decide whether to go and look at this one or wait and hope
that an AUIII turns up in time...

I'm a Libran Engineer. I don't argue, I discuss.

I think the AU3 came with ABS as standard.

That's what a comparison of specs on drive.com.au showed.

Went and looked at the car. AUII with cruise (option) and ABS
(option) and about 110K km (that's 110Mm for Bernd). Sticker
price was $16,990 and the "without trade" price was "about
15 1/2" with 3 months warranty.

Mind you, the dealer made it pretty obvious that he doesn't
want to trade my VP in... Quoted $500 trade on it from about
20m away. drive.com.au reckon $4100 - $5000 dealer trade in,
while redbook say $2200 - #3100 dealer trade in. While those
numbers are a long way apart, the more pessimistic one is way
more than the dealer was offering... And that's without
considering the LPG conversion.
