Thought the tech heads in the group might be interested in this:-

Something I've been looking forward to for a LONG time.
Kind regards

Yes, JVC did really invent the format, although the JVC is very much
domestic unit. It only does 720 progressive not the 1080 interlace HD
format Ten, Nine and ABC use here in Australia.
The JVC also has a single CCD, rather than three, inferior lens - it's
an interesting camera, but the Sony will be the one the pros buy.
JVC is an excellent innovator, but Sony usually gets the volume.
Cheers

A long time yet, at least a year, could be never for news and jobs.
I'm trying to work out a way to make it pay without having to charge.
Cheers

Ah rightyo then.
Nice to see they're broadcasting (some things) in 1080i for the rich eary
adopters - it'll be a while before any screen of mine can manage 1920x1080.

Don't worry, the CCD is only 960x1080 interpolating to 1440x1080 for
recoding using a half pixel shift in the green CCD and normal interpolation
processes.
