"Foxtel and Austar currently have 750,000 subscribers"
Digital must really be having an effect. At the beginning of the year Foxtel
had 22% market penetration which meant that it had about 1,087,000
subscribers. To lose more than 350,000 subscribers in such a short time is
incredible. No wonder there'll be more ads.

Hi
gee, i thought they were at saturation already on some channels !!
not looking forward to that !!
cheers, A.
Well what can you do when MCN is a company not controled by the pay tv
providers.
Independent companies, independent interests!!

They *could* attract more potential customers by lower priced packages
with
fewer channels or offer a package where one can hand-pick the genres
they prefer, ie; a la carte....
For example -- if one should hate the guts of sport -- then one could
choose
say, 6 channels of movies, 6 channels of general entertainment, 6
music channels, 6 news channels & 6 children's channels (for the
kiddies)
(or whatever customers frickin' well want, for that matter)
Hooroo ;-)

This sort of advertising will probably be on FTA digital eventually. That
aside, since it is coming to Australia's Foxtel Digital subscription TV it's
relevant to most of the groups that it was posted to including aus.tv.
Aus.tv isn't limited to FTA discussion.

I'm not surprised they're losing business. At the stroke of Pen the cost
went from $40 to > $70 for the same thing.
Instead of giving People what they want, they are telling them what they
must have. Unless they change there choices I can see a day when it will
no longer be viable to exist. They really are screwing themselves.

HOHOOH, look a reference to someone not taking medication. Did you make
that up by yourself? It's refreshingly funny.
Apart from drawing attention to your inability to be original, care to
correct my statement regarding relevancy, or shall I add hypocrisy to
