I dont seem to be able to get any sound in or out using the C-Media 8330 4.17 Win 2000 drivers.
Under Device manager I have a C-Media8330 Audio driver (WDM), a CM8330 SB16 Driver (WDM) and a C-Media Gameport all succesfully installed, but there is one entry in the device manager under Sound devices, "CMI8330/C3D Audio Adaptor" that will not properly install (can't find a driver) there also doesn't seem to be a free IRQ for this device.
I have the C-Media 8330 set for playback and the SB 16 set to record in the Sound control panel.
I know this isn't officialy supported under XP and that the best option seems to be to buy a cheap PCI soundcard, but I'm just wondering if anyone's got this setup working?

I never did get the m571 on-board sound working under Win2k I got round the problem with a separate PCI sound card so when I put XP on this machine the sound card was already there.

I have recollections of a missing driver and being told that maybe the NT4 drivers would work in Win2k but they didn't for me.

If you have a PCI slot spare a sound card is the easy way out.
