Whatever are you talking about???
Telstra did away with the $50 number selection fee before MNP started.
If you want a Telstra CDMA number connected on Telstra there is no charge,
unless it is premium.
If you wish to connect to Optus resold Telstra CDMA, optus can charge you as
much fees to select the number as they like
Telstra randomly allocate their CDMA numbers, Optus dont have a block or
anything

Told it exactly as it happened. If that's not IAW how you think Tel$tra
perform, toughtitties.

Wrong, as usual. They seem to be able to invoke a fee on a whim.

Irrelevant.

and if you DON'T want a random number, they invoke a fee if they feel so
inclined.

The system is unable to charge such an alleged fee, on whim.
NUMSCH is programmed at $0.

Bit of a change from calling me a liar.

It happened. Late March 2004. Where? Where IS a telephone conversation?
Shite, I was ringing Tel$tra from Perth. B party could have been anywhere -
Melburg, Bangalore (no accent, aussie). Was it YOU Mikey?
Asked for the unused 042x with the same last six as my GSM. Nothing special
otherwise about the six digits - no pairs/sequences/anything.

Mikey knows a bit more than you about Telstra number allocations and I've
got more hands on experience than Mike.
For starters, there's no $70 fee for any preferred number requested by a
customer, only $100,$200 and $400 for premiums, CDMA or GSM.
I doubt your story budgie, and I wouldn't be surprised if you were really in
a store at the time, and you were talking about the work of some dodgy
dealer trying to get some easy money out of you. I hope that wasn't the
case. I hope you're not a troll either budgie.

Doubtful. Maybe I had the random number generator running . . .

You will be pleased to know its $0 if there is nothing special about the
number

Tel$tra obviously don't screen the wankers out when they employ phone droids,
