View Full Version : Nokia Problem - 6100 - is it service time?

Hi Folks,
have got a 6100 that is about 6 months old, and the microphone on it is only
working some of the time... seems to be that if I give it a tap, it
sometimes comes back, but sometimes not.
Seems to work all of the time with the portable handsfree connected...
Where is the Nokia Service Centre in Melbourne, and how long am I likely to
be phoneless?
Is this kind of thing repairable, or do they just replace the phone?
Cheers,
Andrew

just sounds like a loose connection, or at worst, a dodgy mic.
they would either clean/bend the pins, or replace the mic...
no replacing the phone... should be able to do it in a minute, but service
centres like taking their time... or if you have a t6 screwdriver, could
give it a shot yourself...

Surely if it is 6 months old, it is under warranty.
And they should give you a replacement while yours is being fixed - just
swap the SIM over.

I think Streetwise was having a dig at Daniel Juhn, who has been accused
by some of selling barred/stolen handsets.

okey dokes....
Good service from Nokia... phone was ready as prescribed, and in full
working order again...
:-)
Microphone needed the contacts cleaning, and re-aligning...
