View Full Version : What happened to the "new" Telstra capped plans?

Weren't they mean to be released a few days ago?
Has Telstra gone back to the drawing board after the "leaked" details
were savaged by everyone?

They are released, just not on the website, piss poor value... e.g $139 for
$600 of calls/sms at 30c per 30 seconds.. after you threaten to go to
another carrier..
Currently with telstra legal and expected on the site next week, dont waste
your time, go to optus/voda/three's caps..

Ohh, from what I saw I knew they were crap value, I just wanted to
look at the typical Telstra obfuscating detail.

The capped plans are for everyone, they are not a retention tool

They will be on the site ASAP

No... there is one set of plans... if you say there not competive and will
churn to another provider or wont move over because of them, they drop 12
months off the contract and offer you a slightly better set of plans (still
all bullshit)

If you ring them, they can tell you all the figures etc. but the details are
not on their web site yet.
-apparently being run past their legal department, no surprise, fancy
calling the plans "capped" when they are not.
Value for money? NOT when you calculate call rates etc.
I thought they would have come up with a market grabbing value for money
plan that people would jump on, however ...

Telstra has never provided any real value. All marketing hype.

Approx 45% of all subscribers with their being 6 networks to choose from,
100 / 6 = hmmm, 45% is excellent!

You are quoting statistics here Michael, it doesn't really represent
"value" for money.

45% of mobile users are stupid, the sooner people move away from telstra,
the sooner they might wake up to themselves and become competitve instead of
just milking there customers for cold cash..

The day Optus made re-sold Telstra AMPS available I moved away. I'm
not still with Optus for my "main" services but yeah... I want to give
Telstra as little $ as possible. My Optus account number is 00000xxx.
In my lifetime, there has not been any other organisation which has
singularly been more difficult, than Telstra, to deal with.

The customers get to decide, and they have. There is a disproportionate
number of customers with Telstra

The numbers dont tell the entire story. For one, a large proportion of
Government, both state and federal have massive amounts of services with
Telstra, for obvious reasons. A customer base that the other providers would
find extremely difficult to win over, if not impossible. And that's not by
choice!!

What a load of crap.
Vic Govt offer was with Optus, Telstra has now won the mobiles and data, and
Optus has voice.
Isnt SA Govt with Optus?
Stop bleeding for Optus and Voda et al, they are big boys and if they want
the customer base they should go and get it
