View Full Version : What is this song's name??

This is this ambient-like (or "lounge"-like?) song that I like very much,
but unfortunately I can't find its name.. And unfortunately, as it is
instrumental, I can't search for its lyrics.

Would someone help me? I would really appreciate it! I have posted the song
clip here, if someone wants to listen to it:

http://www.geocities.com/jessiesoll/Sounds2.mid

It is a small MIDI clip less than 20 seconds long, I think (the file is even
smaller than my post). I admit it doesn't sound nice, because it's only the
tune as I remember it. The song has more or less this repetitive tune, but
the instruments the real song uses are much nicer to hear, and they are what
makes the song so interesting.

I thank you all in advance!

I don't know what it is (the volume on it is so low, BTW) but is it a tune
you've recently heard on radio or television?

Sounds like the Flintstones to me!

Thank you for telling me about the sound. The volume was indeed very low. I
"improved" the song a little (I hope so), and made the instrument sound a
little closer to the original song, so I hope the song is clearer now...

Unfortunately, it is not a tune I heard on radio or television. I used to
hear it very often in a cafe (around 2001), but I never asked for its name.
Now that I have moved, the cafe is so far away that I just can't ask..

I think it is a popular "ambient" song, but my friends don't know the name
either.

Jessica

P.S.: It is not the "Flintstones", as someone here said.

I will be mightily impressed if someone does successfully ID it for you.
There is so little to go on, unfortunately.

Yeah, I'm with Sarch, I'm afraid... well done for going to the effort of
knocking up a MIDI sample, but there's still not much to go on!

Is the sample you've given the bass line for the track, and are there other
instruments playing on top of it? What kind of instrument/s are playing?

Is that the tempo for the duration, or does it change? Does the whole track
have the same melancholic feel to it?

The best I can come up with (and it IS a long shot) is Kinobe's Skyscraper.
Links to a sample (Windows Media Player stream c/o Amazon):

Good luck, or give us more information!

Sounds like a slightly fractured attempt at Mike Oldfield's "Tubular Bells" to me!

LOL. Sorry Jessica, but I think you could get a hundred responses in the
form of "Sounds like <insert random song title here> to me".
