I support your cause, but seriously, who takes any notice of online
petitions? They mean nothing.

At least 3811 other concerned punters (the count was about 42 when I first
checked the petition) plus also the Brisbane City Council.

Summarised from the Northern News (Brisbane local paper):

The Fortitude Valley heart has been made a special entertainment precinct

Precinct + 3 satellite areas taking in Waterloo, Jubillee and Tivoli hotels
will have provision for higher decibel levels.

Plan will come into effect when it passes through the council on December 7
(already voted this week to formally adopt the plan).

State government yet to announce noise provisions.

Councillor David Hinchcliffe (Central) said "Recommendations of the plan
will eventually become amendments in the City Plan".
