7. This week's top 50:
Last week's top two singles are unchanged this week. Gwen Stefani
spends another week at the top with "What You Waiting For?"
while Eminem's former chart-topping "Just Lose It" is confined
to the number 2 spot. Like last week, the battle for number one
was tight, with Eminem outselling Gwen in NSW, ACT and WA.
But no one can outsell Eminem on the albums chart. His newly
released "Encore" album debuts at number one, forcing Delta
Goodrem's "Mistaken Identity" album to move down to number 2
after just one week at number one. Destiny's Child move
into the top 3 this week with "Lose My Breath", while
Eric Prydz climbs back to number 6 this week after debuting
at number 2 last month with "Call On Me".
Seven new entries into the top 50 this week, with two of those
coming right into the top 10. This sees Christina Aguilera's
and Missy Elliott's "Car Wash" drop out of the top 10, while
it comes as no surprise to see U2's "Vertigo" plummet from
number 5 to 16, suffering the second week dive that has
characterized most of their singles over the last few years.
5. TILT YA HEAD BACK - Nelly featuring Christina Aguilera
Back in September, American rap and hip-hop artist, Nelly,
released two brand new albums in the same week. "Suit" debuted
at number 7, and featured more mellow radio-friendly songs,
while the more hard-core "Sweat" debuted at number 10.
Unfortunately for those two albums, they dropped out of the
top 10 in their second week of release and spent just a total
of 5 weeks in the top 50 before disappearing from the albums
chart last month. For the first single release from the new
albums, Nelly took the track "My Place" from "Suit" and "Flap
Your Wings" from "Sweat", and released it as a double A-sided
single. It debuted at number one and is a certified platinum
seller. Nelly now releases his collaboration with Christina
Aguilera on "Tilt Ya Head Back" which features on his "Sweat"
album. This single debuts at number 5, giving Nelly his 7th
top 5 hit since 2001, and for Christina Aguilera, it is her
9th top 5 single since 1999, following on from her recent
number 2 hit with Missy Elliott, "Car Wash".
7. POINTLESS RELATIONSHIP - Tammin
20 year-old Tammin Sursok recently departed from the Australian
soap "Home & Away" in which she played the role of Dani
Sutherland in order to pursue her musical interests.
Tammin now releases her debut single, "Pointless Relationship",
which is a combination of rock and pop sounds, resulting
in a single that was the most added song to Australian
radio playlists when released last week. "Pointless
Relationship" debuts at number 7, beating the chart
success of fellow Home & Away star, Bec Cartwright (who
plays the role of Hayley Lawson), who scored a number
10 hit with her 2002 release, "All Seats Taken".
Tammin has been busy making in-store appearances
and featuring on radio and TV shows in order to
promote her single and forthcoming album which was
recorded over the last year in Los Angeles, Stockholm and
London with some of the world's finest producers.
Tammin has co-written many of the tracks on her debut
album and her lyrical talents are demonstrated by her recent
statement that she has written over 100 songs during the
last couple of years. Tammin's official web site can be found
at http://www.tammin.com/ where you can listen to and watch
the video for "Pointless Relationship".
14. TEN DAYS - Missy Higgins
Melbourne's Missy Higgins became the hottest new thing
on the charts when her "Scar" E.P. debuted at number one
on the singles chart back in August. The E.P.'s title
track was quickly picked up by radio across the country
and her album, "The Sound Of White", also debuted at
number one when released in mid-September. Missy's
album is currently a double-platinum seller and the
latest single to be lifted off it is the song "Ten Days"
which debuts at number 14 this week. Check out Missy
Higgins on the web at http://www.missyhiggins.com/.
15. FLASHDANCE - Deep Dish
Deep Dish consists of DJs Ali "Dubfire" Shirazinia and Sharam
Tayebi and are highly regarded in the American dance music
scene. Their single, "Flashdance", features the distinctive
vocals of Anousheh, and debuts at number 15 this week.
"Flashdance" has been a big hit in the U.K. where it
debuted in the top 3 last month.
24. NOBODY'S HOME - Avril Lavigne
Single number three from Avril Lavigne's second chart-topping
album, "Under My Skin", is the track "Nobody's Home" which
debuts at number 24 for the 19 year-old from Canada.
Her last two singles, "Don't Tell Me", and "My Happy
Ending", were both top 10 hits when released earlier
this year.
36. PUT 'EM HIGH - Stonebridge featuring Therese
Stonebridge, a DJ who has been remixing tracks since the
1980s, releases a single under his own name. "Put 'Em
High" features the vocals of Swedish pop star Therese,
and debuts at number 36 this week, after enjoying top
10 success in the U.K. earlier this year.
41. WELCOME TO MY TRUTH - Anastacia
This week's final new entry comes from Anastacia. Her current
self-titled chart-topping album is a double-platinum seller
and has spawned the hits "Left Outside Alone" (number 1,
May 2004) and "Sick And Tired" (number 8, August 2004).
Her latest single, "Welcome To My Truth", debuts at number
41 this week. Curiously enough, Anastacia and Avril Lavigne
have both released their last two singles on exactly the same
date in Australia.
On next week's chart watch out for some brand new singles (on sale
now) by some recent high-charting artists. Melbourne female trio,
Slinkee Minx, follow up their top 5 smash "Summer Rain" (the
Belinda Carlisle cover) with a new double A-sided single. One of
the tracks on the single is an original recording called "Closer",
while the title track is "Careless Whisper" - and yes, you
guessed it, a cover of George Michael's ballad from the 1980s.
Also keep an eye out for Dannii Minogue whose latest dance
release, "You Won't Forget About Me", was a recent top 10
hit in the U.K. Last year's Australian Idol winner, Guy
Sebastian, follows up his recent chart-topping "Out With
My Baby" with a ballad this time around, in the form of a
single titled "Kryptonite". And lastly the duo of Outkast
have a hand in two new releases. They have just released
the double A-sided single "Ghetto Musick / Prototype"
while Andre 3000 from the group has teamed up with
the Milkshake Girl, Kelis, on the track "Millionaire".

9. This week's feature song lyrics
------------------------------------------------------
TILT YA HEAD BACK - Nelly featuring Christina Aguilera
------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, that's tight (uh)
Check it, drop the drum right (hmmm..yeah)
Put some horns in it..woo! (that's right)
Do it again (yeah yeah, ha oooh oooh alright, ha)
Give her what she want, give her what she want uh
I see you lookin', uh
like what you see?
Boy, now don't be shy
and look at her face in opportunity
She's right ya know (uh uh), she's right (ah)
Man, she's right ya know (uh uh), she's right (ow!)
You stand there looking at me (at me)
I stand herre looking at you girl (at you boy)
You know exactly what's on my mind (yeah yeah)
It's just so easy to see (to see)
You came here looking for me (but uh uh)
But I don't do that type of thing all the time, yeah
(You want me to)
Come here boy
I got a little something for ya
(You got a little bit, can I get a little bit? yeah yeah)
And I don't know
(I don't know what it is but I just want to get to know ya,
alright alright..yeah yeah)
I need to daaaaaance
(Tilt ya head back, take ya head back)
All night
(Bring it back up slowly, that's right)
I need ya to daaaaaance
(Tilt ya head back, take ya head back)
All night
(Bring it back up slowly, that's right)
Now situations, girl
They often change
Sometimes for the good
Sometimes for the bad, but who's to blame?
He's right ya know (uh uh), he's right (oh babygirl)
He's right ya know (uh uh), he's right, OW!
You stand there looking at me (at me)
I stand herre looking at you girl (at you boy)
You know exactly what's on my mind (yeah yeah)
It's just so easy to see (to see)
You came here looking for me (but uh uh)
But I don't do that type of thing all the time, yeah
(You want me to)
Come here boy
I got a little something for ya
(You got a little bit, can I get a little bit? yeah yeah)
And I don't know
(I don't know what it is but I just want to get to know ya,
alright alright..yeah yeah)
I need to daaaaaance
(Tilt ya head back, take ya head back)
All night
(Bring it back up slowly, that's right)
I need ya to daaaaaance
(Tilt ya head back, take ya head back)
All night
(Bring it back up slowly, that's right)
(Everybody says)
Hustle for me, hustle (hustle)
Hustle for me, hustle (hustle)
Hustle for me, hustle (hustle)
Hustle for me, yeah
So, you got some nerve thinking you're so
I got a little bit of that
A little bit of this
A little bit of back
With a little bit of *beep*
You stand there looking at me (at me)
I stand herre looking at you girl (at you boy)
You know exactly what's on my mind (yeah yeah)
It's just so easy to see (to see)
You came here looking for me (but uh uh)
But I don't do that type of thing all the tiiiiiiiiiiiime
(You want me to)
Come here boy
I got a little something for ya
(You got a little bit, can I get a little bit? yeah yeah)
And I don't know

TEN DAYS - Missy Higgins
------------------------
So we've put an end to it this time.
I'm no longer yours and you're no longer mine.
You said this hill looks far too steep
If I'm not even sure it's me you wanna keep.
And it's been ten days without you in my reach,
And the only time I've touched you is in my sleep.
But time has changed nothing at all -
You're still the only one that feels like home.
I've tried cutting the ropes and
I let you go but you're still the only one
That feels like home.
You won't talk me into it next time,
If I'm going away your hearts coming too.
'Cos I miss your hands I miss your face.
When I get back let's disappear without a trace.
'Cos it's been ten days without you in my reach,
And the only time I've touched you is in my sleep.
But time has changed nothing at all -
You're still the only one that feels like home.
I've tried cutting the ropes,
Tried letting go but you're still the only one
That feels like home.
So tell me, did you really think...
Oh tell me, did you really think
I had gone when you couldn't see me anymore?
When you couldn't...
'Cos baby time has changed nothing at all -
You're still the only one that feels like home.
And I've tried cutting the ropes,
I let you go but you're still the only one
That feels like home, yeah,
You're still the only one that feels like home,
You're still the only one I've gotta love.
Oh yeah...

and I'd never let him next to me,
He's the kind of guy who thinks he's smart,
he's the type that always looks the part,
he's on the make, he's on the take,
and I'd never let him touch my heart,
He didn't mean to catch my eye,
well he's lucky he just walked on by,
If he ever met, a girl like me,
are you kidding?
well I'd tell him that i'd rather die....
he doesn't mean a thing to me,
just another pretty face to see,
cos all of the time, not that I doubt ya honey,
and I'd never let him next to me,
He's the kind of guy who thinks he's smart,
he's the type that always looks the part,
he's on the make, he's on the take,

NOBODY'S HOME - Avril Lavigne
-----------------------------
I couldn't tell you why she felt that way,
She felt it everyday.
And I couldn't help her,
I just watched her make the same mistakes again.
What's wrong, what's wrong now?
Too many, too many problems.
Don't know where she belongs, where she belongs.
She wants to go home, but nobody's home.
It's where she lies, broken inside.
With no place to go, no place to go to dry her eyes.
Broken inside.
Open your eyes and look outside, find the reasons why.
You've been rejected, and now you can't find what you left behind.
Be strong, be strong now.
Too many, too many problems.
Don't know where she belongs, where she belongs.
She wants to go home, but nobody's home.
It's where she lies, broken inside.
With no place to go, no place to go to dry her eyes.
Broken inside.
Her feelings she hides.
Her dreams she can't find.
She's losing her mind.
She's fallen behind.
She can't find her place.
She's losing her faith.
She's fallen from grace.
She's all over the place.
Yeah,oh
She wants to go home, but nobody's home.
It's where she lies, broken inside.
With no place to go, no place to go to dry her eyes.
Broken inside.
She's lost inside, lost inside...oh oh
She's lost inside, lost inside...oh oh yeah

WELCOME TO MY TRUTH - Anastacia
-------------------------------
Sentimental days
In a misty clouded haze
Of a memory that now feels untrue
I used to feel disguised
Now I leave the mask behind
Painting pictures that aren't so blue
The pages I've turned are the lessons I've learned
CHORUS:
Somebody bring up the lights I want you to see
(Don't You Feel Sorry For Me)
My life turned around
But I'm still living my dreams
(Yes it's true I've been)
I've been through it all
Hit about a million walls
Welcome to my truth.. I still love
Welcome to my truth.. I still love
Tangled in a web
With a pain hard to forget
That was a time that I've now put to rest
Oh, the pages I've turned are the lessons I've learned
(CHORUS)
Sentimental days
In a mist of clouded haze
Of a memory that now feels untrue
(CHORUS)

Sometimes for the good

You stand there looking at me (at me)
I stand herre looking at you girl (at you boy)
You know exactly what's on my mind (yeah yeah)
It's just so easy to see (to see)
You came here looking for me (but uh uh)
But I don't do that type of thing all the time, yeah
(You want me to)
Come here boy
I got a little something for ya
(You got a little bit, can I get a little bit? yeah yeah)
And I don't know
(I don't know what it is but I just want to get to know ya,
alright alright..yeah yeah)
I need to daaaaaance
(Tilt ya head back, take ya head back)
All night
(Bring it back up slowly, that's right)
I need ya to daaaaaance
(Tilt ya head back, take ya head back)
All night
(Bring it back up slowly, that's right)
(Everybody says)
Hustle for me, hustle (hustle)
Hustle for me, hustle (hustle)
Hustle for me, hustle (hustle)
Hustle for me, yeah
So, you got some nerve thinking you're so
I got a little bit of that
A little bit of this
A little bit of back
With a little bit of *beep*
You stand there looking at me (at me)
I stand herre looking at you girl (at you boy)
You know exactly what's on my mind (yeah yeah)
It's just so easy to see (to see)
You came here looking for me (but uh uh)
But I don't do that type of thing all the tiiiiiiiiiiiime
(You want me to)
Come here boy
I got a little something for ya
(You got a little bit, can I get a little bit? yeah yeah)
And I don't know
(I don't know what it is but I just want to get to know ya,
alright alright..yeah yeah)
I need to daaaaaance
(Tilt ya head back, take ya head back)
All night

Oh yeah...

FLASHDANCE - Deep Dish
----------------------
he doesn't mean a thing to me,
just another pretty face to see,
cos all of the time, not that I doubt ya honey,
and I'd never let him next to me,
He's the kind of guy who thinks he's smart,
he's the type that always looks the part,
he's on the make, he's on the take,
and I'd never let him touch my heart,
He didn't mean to catch my eye,
well he's lucky he just walked on by,
If he ever met, a girl like me,
are you kidding?
well I'd tell him that i'd rather die....
he doesn't mean a thing to me,
just another pretty face to see,
cos all of the time, not that I doubt ya honey,
and I'd never let him next to me,
He's the kind of guy who thinks he's smart,
he's the type that always looks the part,
he's on the make, he's on the take,
and I'd never let him touch my heart,
He didn't mean to catch my eye,
well he's lucky he just walked on by,
If he ever met, a girl like me,
are you kidding?

Baby, let me, need me,
those were, the words you, gave me,

just Put 'em high,
Put 'em high
make the best of it,
just a little bit,
just Put 'em high,
And Put 'em high

WELCOME TO MY TRUTH - Anastacia
-------------------------------
Sentimental days
In a misty clouded haze
Of a memory that now feels untrue
I used to feel disguised
Now I leave the mask behind
Painting pictures that aren't so blue
The pages I've turned are the lessons I've learned
CHORUS:
Somebody bring up the lights I want you to see
(Don't You Feel Sorry For Me)
My life turned around
But I'm still living my dreams
(Yes it's true I've been)
I've been through it all
Hit about a million walls
Welcome to my truth.. I still love
Welcome to my truth.. I still love
Tangled in a web
With a pain hard to forget
That was a time that I've now put to rest
Oh, the pages I've turned are the lessons I've learned
(CHORUS)
Sentimental days
In a mist of clouded haze
Of a memory that now feels untrue
(CHORUS)
