<center><B>SYNOPSIS: </b></center>
Charlie McGee is a young woman who has the very lethal and unwanted gift of pyrokinesis, where she can will a fire to happen with just her mind. She isn't the only one who knows about her strange gift and she's had to hide from a secret government agency for most of her life. Unfortunately for Charlie, the agency are closer to tracking her down with the help of boys who posses some unique and strange talents of their own. With the help of a young Private Investigator, Charlie must try and outwit her pursuers.
<center><b>AUDIO/VISUAL:</b></center>
Audio:
I was a tad disappointed with the 5.1 mix on this DVD. Whilst the front speakers were clear and constant throughout, I found the rear speakers to be a little too quiet and non-impactful. Of course, a bit of hi-fi tweaking can fix this but this shouldn’t be necessary.
The instrumental music scores were quite good in parts, whilst other parts really gave the “TV-Movie” feel to the mini-series [which doesn’t really matter considering this IS a TV mini-series].
The subwoofer remained reasonably quiet, kicking in occasionally in tune to the music score or action / event on-screen, but wasn’t particularly missed.
Video:
1.78:1 and 16:9 Enhanced, Firestarter: Rekindled has an average Video transfer. A fair amount of aliasing was present numerous times during the ‘film’, usually appearing on background / objects such as a wooden door pane and computer screen.
The flashback scenes in the film had copious softness and de-colourisation but as this is obviously the result of artistic direction as opposed to encoding impairment, there is no reason to consider this a blemish on the overall transfer.

Commentary, Deleted Scenes, Alternate Versions where Charlie is really the Lindberg Baby…
Nah, not really. Absolutely no features included on this disc. Oh well.
<center><B>MY MEMORABLE MOMENT FROM THIS DVD:</b></center>
The Superman “Kryptonite” Debate.
<center><B>OVERALL & MY COMMENTS:</b></center>
I will bashfully admit that I haven’t seen the original Firestarter [and I call myself a Stephen King fan… bah!]. Of course, when they release the original, I’ll be the first one in line to pick up a copy as I’ve long wanted to watch it.
However, with that said, those in my position need not worry about viewing Firestarter: Rekindled, as the film holds up reasonably well ‘on it’s own’. As for whether the film is any good or not…. I thought it was reasonably good, though some bits were rather interesting whilst others were a real snooze. It starts off a bit timid but does get quite interesting around the thirty minute mark onward. Marguerite Moreau is quite convincing [and easy on the eyes mind you], and Danni Nucci doing his usual [yet under-rated] best. Malcolm McDowell once again shows his uncanny / natural knack at playing a bad guy (lol) whilst Dennis Hopper, though small, seemed like it could have been extended due to his character’s ‘ability’ and the fact that …. <I>Hey, we got Dennis Hopper here! Might as well use him to max potential!!</I>
Overall, not a bad film to sit down and watch [though 2 hours & 40 minutes is quite a commitment] and definitely worth considering for your next rental [or purchase if a King completest, even though he had no active involvement with this TV Miniseries Sequel].
