Foxtel Pace STU

Hi everybody.

A simple Q.

Can the PACE STU which comes tomorrow (armed I'm told) with all the latest firmware/software output a component signal to my NEC Plasma with the Y/PB/PR inputs??

Yes it can, and from what I believe the UEC can also output YUV (Component)

Unfortunate timing...

It seems Foxtel have just this morning (3-Dec) done a "forced
downgrade" on all cable and satellite boxes and rolled-back that
component-capable firmware.

What you said above WAS correct, and you'd have to hope the
component-capable firmware will be made again very soon, but today I
think you're going to be using SVideo at best.

At least with the replacement PACE Box (After jettisoning the UEC) I can now use S-Video which is better than the composite I s'pose.

I wonder if this is permanent or temporary???

Yas, bummer. Next time we force download an update, maybe we should
disconnect the power when it's not in use, to make it harder for them
to back it out.
