HI All,
Greetings from Arizona. I am looking into purchasing a 2004 Pontiac GTO
, aka Holden Monaro from down your way. For whatever reason the car is not
selling to good here, I dont know why because I really like it. Mainly
because of the 5.7 and being rear drive. There is a lack of cars like it
in the U.S. The stiker price here is $34,000 USD I believe thats about
$43,000 AUD I have the dealer talked down to $26,000 USD. I know the
reputation of the engine and drive train but would like some imput from
some of you guys who know more about the Monaro. Any things that I should
watch for in this car. Thank You in advance for any help. Scott

You won't get much help here due to the lack of a Mitsubishi badge.

Watch out for red and blue flashing lights previously obscured by excess
tyre smoke - but have fun! Cheers

Considering your previous negativity towards a joke posted here about
the evil war criminal err US president, I don't know how much positive
information you'll get from regulars here.

And what great things have you achieved in your life? Have to laugh at the
people who refer to W as a retard fuckwit. These people will never achieve
anything in their lives. I guess that puts them below the level of a retard
fuckwit!

Test drove one yesterday, just for fun. I ride motorbikes most of the time.
Absolutely brilliant fun, very predictable understeer and quite lovely
oversteer, easily brought about by a quick stab of the go pedal. Great
handling for a car that size. All in all, if fuel, tyres, and any other
consumables weren't taken into account, bloody lovely car.
My recommendation would be to get one. Just for the fun factor.

whats worse majority of americans voted him in....
very sad..
I think voted out of fear of them...once the commies, the negros & now
extremist moslems coming to get them.....
But back to the car the best thing holden has done in 30years producing a
real sports car instead of family/sports car.
Looks great sounds great, a real head turner, colour same as orignial monaro
in the early 70s.
But the rex is better.......

Sorry Guys, I apologise for saying anything political on your site. Am just
really interested in what cars you drive there and talking to people who
like cars like I do. I have worked in a Chevrolet garage for 33 years. And
like to know more about your cars. Hope I can start fresh. Just like to
hear about different cars. Scott

Great car. Build quality probably ok too. Juist remember that most of the
people who whine about the styling / colours / accessories, etc., are
driving something they didn't pay for and often seem to feel obliged to
dump on foreign cars - that goes for lots of writers in lots of countries.
many motwhichever country's mags you readto't *paying* for the privilege -
In the end it's *your* choice (and what would they know anyway!)
Still recommend listening to "Self Evident" by Ani di Franco though!

OT: There is a USA company that manufactures laptop cases, and said
cases have care instructions written in both English and French. Both
versions say the usual stuff like "... do not dry clean..." etc, but
the French version *only* has an additional bit that reads something
like "It's not our fault our President is an idiot, we didn't vote for
him". Brilliant! ;-)
