i've just got into the technology revolution and bought myself a PS2 to pass the time. i really want to buy the logitech driving force pro steering wheel but don't have the cash for a while. so i thought i would buy a cheap wheel to see me through. my only requirement really is that i really want pedals. i looked at the Speedster Pure wheel and the Ferrari Challenge wheel. any opinions to which one is better? or is there another one i should look at?
cheers

Unfortunately, I have to say "go with Logitech".
It's the one you'd keep forever.
Others will disappoint you.
Especially when Gran Turismo 4 is out.
The Logitech steering wheel is so precise and
extremely well built for PS2 games.
Nothing else comes close to it....
sorry mate. I understand the money thingy...

The two options you listed are both on the small side and feel nothing like a real wheel. I'd agree with harrizons, save the money for the logitech, or one step futher and buy the ultimate console steering wheel, the logitech Momo wheel :D

I agree Logitech is the way to go, stay far away from brands like 4LAMERs (4Gamers), tru blu ect....
4 xbox\cube the thrustmaster 360 is good, also the F1 joytech (ugle as shiet, but a decent wheel).

Damn! I just got the 4Gamers wheel for the XBOX!
Of course, it was bundled with OutRun2, and only cost me $83 for both.... (what fortune that some KMarts had 15% off storewide today only!)
Meh, if it turns out to be tragic, I'll just flog it on Ebay :dD

I was just curious, this Logitech steering wheel you are talking about - is this the one that has two and a half turns rotation ?
If so, I was just wondering isnt it really hard to do a full turn real quick when you are coming up to a bend that you didnt realise was there as quickly as you should have?

if you're asking me, i'm not sure. the only steering wheel i've used before is the ferrari thrustmaster wheel for the PC. hope someone else can answer your question. good luck.

chryslerboy: was kinda just asking everyone but thanks for the reply but you bring up a good point.
who has used old school 1/2 turn wheels as well as 2 1/2 turn wheels. how do they compare and are there strengths and weaknesses to both ?
