ps2 games saves

if i borrow gta san andreas from a vid store or a mate, play it and save my game, then buy it from bigw or something will i be able to play that save or will i need the same game i originally saved?

It will work as long as the game is PAL (australian and european origin).

As long as you save it on the memory card, you can load the game with any other GTA San Andreas disc.

NTSC versions will not work with most save games of it's PAL counterpart.
