..... you place an order for an "In Stock" item then you check your account
only to find the item is now "On Order". Now I'll have to wait an eternity
and they've already charged me.
Thats what happened to me. All titles I ordered were supposedly in stock but
when I checked status it showed all on order.

I believe they will only credit your account.

It's even more annoying when the item enters 'packaging' and then goes back
to 'in stock' or 'on order'. It does happen occasionally, and how it does
this is anyones guess...
You can credit any credit amount back onto your card, simply cancel the
order and then from the account page, select 'Refunding a credit' from the
vertical menu on the right hand side, enter card details and you're done.
They are cheap and if you don't mind waiting, they're good, but yes, you do
have to be patient a lot of the time...
Cheers,
Jason.

I cancelled my order after a month wait pre-shipping for items that were 'in
stock'. Still fighting to get a refund - WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it all comes down to personal experience. I think its a bit rough to
generally state to avoid them. They are cheap and the free shipping is a
bonus. Ive ordered a handful of times from them and have never had an issue.
Yeah sometime you have to wait a while for stock to come in. Just life
really. I have LOTR:ROTK and Hellboy 3 dvd set on its way now. Im hoping
they appear pre-christmas but wont be upset if they dont appear. You'll find
a lot of people have had troublefree sailing with them and others have had
no end of problems.

With an attitude like that it's no wonder you have problems. i personally
have had nothing but good dealings with them both in deliveries and in email
correspondence. I can only surmise that it comes down to the way you come
across in an email as to whether a company goes the extra yard or two for
you.

So just how much cheaper than other suppliers are they?
Given the many complaints on this NG, I hope it's substantial!

Not true Koeing. I've also had no end of troubles and I was quite
understanding and professional when emailing them an enquiry regarding a
number of my orders. They would rarely reply, and when they did, it was an
unsatisfactory and almost a disinterested response. I would be happy to
forward you my correspondence to you if you like, unedited.
I have a DVD still on order since August. Totally unacceptable.
There is nothing in Gadgets warning that says he has a bad attitude, it
sounds more like frustration to me. And you're just baiting him with a
response like that, which says more about your attitude to a fellow poster
simply venting his frustrations and rightly so warning others to beware.
You continue with them since you're so happy with them, but I'd bet my left
nut they'll eventually sting you too.
When they remove their free shipping in January, they won't be much of a
supplier anyway.

Frustration like that indicates to me an impatient attitude, which indicates
emails that would be far from cordial when "requesting" information on an
ordered DVD.

No, it only shows the impression I received about him from his emotional
outburst

Varies from title to title, but they can significantly cheaper. I've
ordered probably a 100 or so discs from them without a problem.

I should point out that I have also used DVDSoon for quite some time and
generally have enjoyed few problems with them. I've ordered dozens of
titles from them also, but I am always careful only to order IN STOCK titles
as am well aware of their poor reputation in terms of the delays of ordering
in new stock. One day, all of those people who claim they have not had any
problems will undoubtedly experience this problem at some point, and will
probably share my frustration also. This is my one real gripe DVDSoon.

So you read his emails to dvdsoon then? Or is that an asumption Dr. Koenig?
There's been more than one person in this newsgroup that has stated that
dvdsoon has ignored enquiries on orders. And others including myself that
received poor service when emails did arrive. But you're more than happy to
quickly dismiss anyone that has a diference of opinion. Maybe you should see
if they've got any work going. You would be perfect in their customer
service department.

No, that was frustraition. Maybe you should ask him directly rather than
assuming he's emotionally unstable. It seems that it is you that has a bad
attitude whilst being ignorant.

In the 18 months I have been ordering from DVDSoon, they have probably
replied to around 50% of my emails. No, my emails have not been rude.
Their customer service would have to be the worst I have ever experienced
from a DVD e-tailer, and their ordering system is pathetic. The vast
majority of my orders have indicated "On Order" directly after placing the
order, when shown as "In Stock" before the order.
Why do I keep using them? Purely their prices. If they start to charge for
shipping, I'll go elsewhere only because they are so slack.

i placed an order with dvdsoon yesterday for 4 items, three of which came up as 'on order' when i logged in to check. will they hold the 4th title, and send them all together, or will they send items individually and as they become available, like cd-wow?
all words aside, *on average* how long does an order with them take? i can say this thread inspires me with very little confidence when it comes to this company, now.
