EB will have new xboxes next week for $217 (black model with 1 controller), looks like we might have a price war.....

I noticed the drop in the halo/top spin pack at EB the other day, $289 or something, might of been less. I had to walk out as soon as I saw it or the bank card would of been getting swiped quicker than I can say 16.5% p.a. :eek:

I got a halo / topspin from toys r us for $279....not sure if they buggered it up though :dD

I picked up 5 lastnight, the are all 1.6 22-11-04 very new stock.
but stock is limited only 20 per store should only last a day or two.
Sale starts Saturday

Mitsubishi CDR (work in most phillips Drives) - NO
I dont have Kodak golds, CDRW, DVDRW, DVD+, DVD-DL at the office but i will test them tonight.

this is huge news, get some more pics and stuff and submit to xbox-scene
but to bad it doesn't look like a samsung beater according to movation's tests

I saw a nice shiny new EB store in Elizabeth St in Melbourne city last week - down towards the spencer st end.
Dunno about the 'burbs though.

I picked up a PC Hitachi DVD drive today 8150 hoping to modify & use the firmware from the new xbox drive, but due to different controller revision & firmware device (it is extremly unlikely that it will work), I will look around for the newer Hitachi PC drive (there is a newer model) and if all goes well we might have another 16x CDR reading wonder.........
