<b>"A SMART, STYLISH HORROR PICTURE...
A FRESH TWIST ON THE EVER-RELIABLE REVENGE THEME" - LA TIMES</B>
<i>From the director of "Urban Legend" featuring Denise Richards from "Wild Things" and David Boreanaz from TV's 'Angel', this hip, sexy new horror will change the way you view your Valentine forever.
With more bite than 'Scream' and 'I Know What You Did Last Summer', Valentine delivers a Valentine's Day card of pure terror, written in blood and sealed with a deadly kiss.
Best friends since school, Kate, Paige, Dorothy, Lily and Shelly seemingly have it all - glamorous lives, hot bodies, great careers and men falling all over them. But as Valentine's Day approaches, they each receive a mysterious card with a sinister message - "you are next."
And then, one by one, they start to disappear in horrific circumstances.
Who has chosen them to die? And Why?
Just pray you don't meet your secret Valentine on February 14.</I>

<center><b>AUDIO/VISUAL</b></center>
Valentine has a DD 5.1 audio track and I was very pleased with it.
There is good use of all the speakers with some nice speaker separation and directional sounds during the movie. The sub was often put to good use and provided some nice deep bass at times.
Audio is in sync and always easy to understand.
Music is used quite often in this movie and was put to good use setting the various moods such as tension and shock. The quality was always of a high standard.

Valentine has an aspect of 2.35:1 widescreen and is 16:9 enhanced.
Wow! This movie looks fantastic on DVD! You have to love this format!
Roadshow has given us a faultless video transfer on this movie.
Viewers are treated to a crisp and clean looking movie that shows no sign of imperfections or blemishes.
The image is so sharp that you could cut yourself (well, not really but you know what I mean and it sounded good when I typed this). Seriously though, this is a very sharp and detailed picture.
Colours are superb as is blacks and shadow detail. There are plenty of dimly lit scenes in this movie and they were never a problem with this transfer.
Flesh tones have a natural look to them and are easily on par for quality with the rest of the visual side of things.
As usual, Roadshow has provided yet another superb looking video transfer on a recent release movie.

<center><B>EXTRA FEATURES</b></center>
<LI><U><I>Audio Commentary with Director Jamie Blanks </i></U> -
Director Jamie Blanks provides a wealth of information regarding filming times, budgets, special effects sequences, filming shots that worked how he wanted and others that didn't(He also explains some of the technical terms he uses so that the viewer can understand better), how and why certain actors where cast, some funny stories from during filming /production and so much more.
I found this commentary to be very informative and easy to listen to.
There is rarely a quiet moment from Jamie as he talks about anything and everything regarding the shooting of the film. It is a very entertaining commentary with no dull moments.
This commentary is a great addition to this disc and well worth at least one viewing..

<LI><U><I>Club Reel</i></u> -
This is a 2.59-minute film clip for Orgy "Opticon"
a song that featured in the movie. The film clip is made up of scenes from the movie
and is presented in widescreen with Dolby Digital 2.0 audio.
<LI><U><I>Theatrical Trailer </I></u> -
This 40 second trailer is a very good example of what a trailer should be. It gives you just a glimpse of what the movie is about without giving anything away.
It is enticing and to the point and makes you want to see the movie.
It is presented in widescreen with Dolby Digital 2.0 audio.
<LI><U><I>Cast & Crew </I></u> -
Here you have a background picture (still shot from the movie)along with a list of the major cast, their characters and the main crew members.
You can also view film and television credits for 4 of the main cast members and Director Jamie Blanks.
<LI><U><I>Studio Extras</i></u> -
This is a behind the scenes featurette which runs for approximately 8 minutes. It has clips of the main cast and crew members including Denise Richards and David Boreanaz talking about Valentine's day, the filming of the movie, the characters and situations, their fears and more.

<center><B>OVERALL…..</b></center>
I can already hear everyone saying "NOOO! Not another teen horror movie"
And I can honestly say I agree with you but....This is not just another teen horror movie.
Based on a group of twenty something's rather than your general 17-year-olds this movie while sometimes still cliched and predictable is well worth seeing.
It is a must if you are a fan of the "Scream" style of movies.
The DVD itself is a slick looking presentation with some very high quality audio/visuals and some entertaining extra features including a very good audio commentary.
I'd say that this one would be more of a "renter", but I have no doubt that fans of this style of movie will be very happy with a purchase.
Valentine is well worth renting at the least.
