Not really worth it to me, just for the benefit for a few bucks though.

Does Optus still offer the 'double your first recharge within 7 days of
activation' promotion? If so, you could really rort (read: abuse) that
by porting out to a $2 Vodafone SIM, then porting back to Optus PPM,
then recharging with the credit of your choice.

Also you might get an extra $5 by activating on the Optus website
rather than calling 555.
