Still waiting for a Foxtel Digital upgrade?
It appears you can walk into many Dick Smith stores and walk out with a
Foxtel Digital Upgrade kit. Then all you have to do, it appears, is self
install it. Not only that, but you get the wireless return path at no extra
cost.
This is according to the Dick Smith Electronics website.

At Myer as well. But according to the staff at Myer you have to pay
$169 for the upgrade kit, which includes free installation by a Foxtel
installer. You can't do it yourself.
Free upgrades in Brisbane ended yesterday, so I assume the previous 6
weeks not many people would have bought them.

Foxtel were just recently doing Digital upgrades for free and from memory
the digipath is only about $65. The Dick Smith kit is double that price so
it's not really at no extra cost, is it? Even now, the installation for
platinum is only $52. With the digipath that's $117, $12 cheaper than the
DSE kit.

The free upgrade offer is no longer on the web and the price is now $169.96,
except for the basic package which is $189.95. This includes installation
and the first month's subscription on a 24 month direct debit contract.

Actually, the figure is $149.95 with the $20 discount. The price quoted on
the website is the standard pre-discount price.
Does the DSE kit (with which you don't get a free telephone extension)
include first month's subscription?
