I paid $2700 for mine from Havey Moron. At the time that was cheaper than I
could buy it for wholesale. Since then my wholesaler has wised up and I can
get them for about $2650. I imagine this is due to a price drop. So go
screw your local Harver Moron down for that price and walk out the store if
they won't give it to you for that.

Hi Peter , Being a 2 finger typist it would take too much time to enumerate
all the issues however have a look at
http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?s=16dd7056b283cf61e3d0c105249fd360&showforum=63
for a full run down on all the issues and the service concerns that people
have experienced. From personal experience and info from others the main
issues seem to revolve around the input board and premature bulb
dimming/expiry.As I said there appears to be many happy customers but too
large a percentage are experiencing severe problems.

Fair enough but do have a look at the various the threads on
http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?s=16dd7056b283cf61e3d0c105249fd360&showforum=63
to see just what people are experiencing.I hadn't heard of any problems
before purchasing in January ,there was fairly universal praise for the
unit.It was only after I got mine that numerous complaints started to
appear.
You will probably be one of the lucky ones ,in which case you will be
getting great value for money however imo too many people are experiencing
severe problems and getting resolution from Panasonic is slow and in some
cases non-existent.I have no axe to grind with Panasonic other than my
current problems.
My aim here was simply to give you a heads up.As I have said the word is
that a new version is due out in a few months so unless the money is burning
a hole in your pocket my advice would be to hold on.

I kickstarted this post....so I'll weigh in here
I'm happy to listen to all opinions - positive and negative. To be honest - I've heard too many positive and only one negative.....here and elsewhere. So at this stagr I'll go with the affirmative.
Having said that........my initial reason for posting was to ty and find out where I could by an AE700 from.......at the best price people know. The feedback on the projector is great......but.....if anyone can tell me the best deal they'v got/seen on the projector.......I'd really appreciate it!
Thancks!
I paid $2,550 from Domayne, Alenxandria in late June.
I do have a slight problem with it now though - at about 50 hours I noticed a greenish circle near the bottom of the screen - approx. 1 foot in diameter. I'm yet to sample Panasonic's customer service though as I can't bear to be with out it until the Ashes is finished - a large screen does spoil you.
Otherwise, I love the PJ.

What you have there is a dust blob. They usually dissapear on their own.
Ive got nearly 500 hours on my AE700 and have yet seen a dust blob.
My old AE500 had a few dust blobs ,but they seem to have fixed the problem
with the Ae700.
Moving the projector around usually is what causes dust blobs.
Have you been moving yours around?

Well not really - I might have moved it a little for the first 2 weeks and when I was attaching it to the roof but it's been pretty stable since then...
What casues them to disappear? Should I move it a little more or not touch it?

They have always dissapeared for me.
if its still there u need to open it and spray some kind of canned air
through the light path.
There are links all over the net on how to do it. But like i said they
always went away on my AE500 and 300.
Ive been so suprised with the Ae700.
