Hi all,

Can anyone give me an indication of the price they have managed to get
an AE700 for? Just looking for a ballpark figure to aim for. Hardly
Normals have them advertised with a pull down Grandview screen at the
moment for $3499 before negotiating...

I was quoted $3100 for this package (with the 92" Herma or Grandview) with
interest free or rentsmart from HN. The only thing stopping me going out to
get one today is that I still have to sell sell the idea to the wife (who's
not keen - I've even brought a PJ home from work thinking that would tip her
over the edge)

cheers

Hi, I have just been to HN in Ballarat and I was quoted $3000
on interest free, this included a pull down
screen (tho not sure what brand it is, probably the Grandview).

Do you guys think this is a good price?

Thanks for al the replies...

I managed to track down a HN deal for $4200 for the 700, Grandview
16:9 pull down screen and a DMRE85 DVD/HDD Rec (I just *needed* the
progressive ;-) ). The 85 variable stuffs up the equation a little
but overall it seemed a good deal.

Best of all it was all in stock, which was a major consideration, as
the 700 seems to be a rare as hens teeth here.

I've been looking for a while as far as I can see the best deal is at http://www.ausmedia.com.au/panasonicae500.htm
(under 3K)
I got one there because it seemed about the lowest price around and they had a projector in stock, after reading that you could get a bad unit because of problems with the inputs I decided better to buy one there because they were offering a 5 hour swap over deal.

My projector arrived yesterday (ONE DAY AFTER I ORDERED!!) so I can't knock their speed.

It's the best picture I've seen, I was after an Infocus 4805 till I realized it didn't have as high number of pixles and the price is in the same league. I haven't had a chance to play with the secret menu to improve VB but my one seems OK anyhow.

I love the way it is touted as a "secret menu" by Ausmedia. A basic scan of
avsforum will find this info free of charge.
They've got a good product, no need to "snake oil" it.

Thought I'd reactivate this thread and see what prices people are getting the AE700 for now?

It's interesting that earlier this year people were touting AUSmedia as one of the cheapest places to buy the AE700 at prices around $2600+. Go to the AUSmedia website now and the price is $2887. What gives? If anything, shouldn't the price have dropped - not gone up?

Anyways, I'd really like to know who is selling this projector the cheapest. I'm desperate to buy one but at the current price - it's out of my league (I'm looking at about $2200 tops). I wonder how long until we see it dropping down close to this price.......

Looking forward to hearing what people know!

Keep looking mate , their are too many problems with this projector and
Panasonic do little more than pay lip service .Word is there will be a new
version out in the not to distant future, AE900 ? with similar specs , but
with most of the problems erradicated.Lots of happy customers but more than
the average who are very pissed off both with the reliability and the
backup.
Now is not the time to buy.

hi Fi

Don't listen to someone who doesn't actually have this projector. I've had one since December with not a problem.

Got any examples of problems? I've been really happy with mine.

Where or how did you get this information on problems with the AE700
and Panasonic's service? Please let me know as for all I know you may
personally not like Panasonic , so some references would help support
up your statements.

Thanks

I haven't heard of many, if any, problems with AE700. Could you give us a
quick run down on what problems you've heard about?

I kickstarted this post....so I'll weigh in here

I'm happy to listen to all opinions - positive and negative. To be honest - I've heard too many positive and only one negative.....here and elsewhere. So at this stagr I'll go with the affirmative.

Having said that........my initial reason for posting was to ty and find out where I could by an AE700 from.......at the best price people know. The feedback on the projector is great......but.....if anyone can tell me the best deal they'v got/seen on the projector.......I'd really appreciate it!

Thancks!
