Hi all,
Just wondering what other consider to be one of the better HD set top boxes
around at the moment. I've looked over the list at:
http://www.dba.org.au/index.asp?sectionID=18 but am not really any the wiser
as I'm not really sure what to look for. Which are the leading boxes and
why?
Cheers

best HD tuners from my experience are the Pheonix HD ( a la DGtec 5000 with
better software and picture),Media star HD for it's picture quality and size
but has fan noise,Panasonic HD silver front model since replaced ( with a
worse unit)but excellent picture but has turn off/on issues occasionally,

OK these are the main contenders the LG/Humax,Teac and Homecast, they all have DVI and have all proven to be vey good performers with a large majority of there owners.Oops i forgot to mention the Toshi aswell. Also it will depend on what display you are connecting it to as some people have better results on certain displays with certain HD STB's.Another point to consider is the recent price drop of the Teac from $699 rrp to $399 rrp.By the way i have an LG connected to my Sony KVHR36M31 and its fantastic.Hope this helps.
