I have a Aladdin XT mod chip. I would like to be able to boot to the mod all the time with out holding the power for 1 sec. My kids have trouble turning it on, they always just tap the button. I have a ver 1.1 xbox

Solder the d0 point to ground. A good ground place is on one of the screw holes.

i think with the XT you must solder bt to ground, the Do trick worked on the old aladdins but not on the XT. and on the XT pro you must solder bt to L1 to hold the signal high.

Do you still connect the wire on the m/b to the mod then ground?

no, connect DO to the B1 then Link BT to GND PIN 2 of LPC (quicksolder point closest to BT)

no, desolder the bt wire from the m/b amd solder it to a ground point (a screw surround is best) the bt wire detects how long the power button has been pressed in for, by grounding you create the same reslut as if you held the power button in.

i did one yesturday, solder all points as normal including the DO point, the L1 is only needed if you want the power led to be orange, and solder a wire from the bt point on the chip to ground on the m/b.

hope this helps

The CPLD on the chip uses L1 to turn the Powerled orange when the chip is enabled. But this can also done with a modified bios. Regardless the L1 & L2 wires are optional. (not required for the modchip to work)

Note: some of the new AA XT chips have a sst49LF020A or winbond flash chip these are not reliabliy flashed (updated in evox) you have to use a modified version of raincoat (linux) to flash them.
