View Full Version : RGB via SCART, to RGB via RCA, with UEC box doesn't work

Has anyone managed to get RGB out of the Foxtel UEC DSN1000 digital cable
box? I've selected RGB under the STB's video menu, and ditto for the
projector with no luck. I'm using this jaycar SCART to RCA plug:
http://www1.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=PA3667&CATID=35&keywords=&SPECIAL=&form=CAT&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID=525
It says it's RGB SCART to RGB RCA, but the adapter is actually labelled
component ( Y Pb Pr), not that that should matter unless SCART has separate
pins for RGB & component.
Any ideas? Is the RGB actually RGBHV or something?

Does the adaptor have an in/out switch? Try flicking this over if you
haven't already done so. The ad says it's bi-directional so I'd expect
you have this switch somewhere. You need output from the scart

As you say, it's bi-directional, apparently meaning it's wired up that way;
there's no switch. I forgot to mention it's connected to the TV SCART
output of the DSN1000, as according to UEC's website:
http://www.uec.co.za/sa/manuals/Scart.pdf , the VCR/ AUX output doesn't do
RGB. I've tried both though.

I haven't tried RGB, as unfortunately my TV has component inputs.
I can tell you though that my UEC box outputs crap when set to S-Video.
Tried all the settings, all the Scarts, all the cables, all the in/out
switching....just garbage as reported elsewhere.
They had better bring back component soon or I am likely to unsubscribe.

Did component work for you when it was enabled in the firmware? I can
accept component as well, but if it's like their RGB, I might have problems.

Thanks for that, I hope they bring it back soon then.
No one else managed to get RGB out of this box then?
