Your mad, spending that sort of money on overpriced junk. Really with 7k to
spend , you could get a really nice system.

Forget those little speakers in Plastic box's, I need medication just
thinking about it.
With speakers, the bigger, the heaver, the better. Unless its a question of
space, then go for some really nice bookshelves, 1k to 1.1/2k's should get
you something really nice, Whatmouth, Tannoy, VAF, B &W.
Have a read on Aus.Hi Fi or the Sydney morning harald, Monday copy, look
for the "guide " supplement
As for amp's, multi channel processers, etc, Rotel, Nad, Accram, Christ for
your sort of money, look at Redgum. and some of the other better makes.

but forget the Yankee crap.. Please.. bassett

I agree.

If you're after a non-intrusive system, Whatmough make something called Synergy
with mini-bookshelf speakers and a powered subwoofer for all freq's below 80hz.
Designed for home theatre, and it sounds great. Cost me $2200.

**Wrong choice! ANYTHING is better and cheaper than Bose. Let your ears be
your guide and forget the massive marketing machine behind Bose products.
There are a few things you should be aware of when considering Bose
equipment:

* Dr Amar Bose is (by far) the richest man in the audio business. He got
that way, through several tried and true methods:
He aggressively litigated against detractors.
He kept Bose Corp a private company, which is not answerable to
shareholders.
He spent more money on marketing than R&D.
He builds the cheapest possible products, then sells at the highest
possible price.
* Bose products are rarely discounted (Retailers LOVE this).
* Bose Acoustimess products do not work all that well. The woofer module
(NOT A SUBWOOFER, BTW) crosses over far too high and the satellites
crossover too high. There is a big problem with location of the woofer
module and huge problems with extreme highs and lows.

DON'T DO IT. 7 grand will buy a good sounding system. If looks are
important to you, the new B&W flat panel monitors (FPM 4 & 5) put out a
pretty good sound - team them up with a decent receiver and you'll get a
good pile of change from $7k and performance to match the pricetag. Buy a
Bose setup, and you'll be flat out comparing it with a system from Aldi!

reasoning?
