There does tend to be an oversupply of them. I'm more of a GM fan myself. ;-)

There must be more Mustangs in Perth than old Falcons of the same era.
There's something wrong with that. I'd rather look at a neat XR/T/A/B
Falcon than yet another '66 Mustang convertible.

agreed - so would i , i think some people have that thought that a mustang
is something "special" and therefore worth restoring and our humble Falcon
is not .
The styling on an XA/XB coupe is equal to any mustang ever made ,that's for
sure.

Having owned a Mustang in Perth and attended all the car shows over
the years, i'm sick of seeing all Mustang AND Falcons. there is only
so much time you can spend looking at exactly the same old thing.
Nowadays, I prefer to go to the combined shows and look at odd stuff,
the Whiteman Park show is good for that. Last time I went, I dont
think I even looked at the Mustang and Falcon stands, was more
interested in the old Buicks and Mopar gear

I went to the All Chrysler Day in Perth last year, that was a great show...6
pack 440 motors and all that, excellent. (I think that's what they were
called? Factory triple carbs on top of a 440 in any case).

I love the story about Hertz finding them full of spotwelds. The car touted
as being able to go through a set of back tyres in a weekend.

Hi guys,
It's great to read the comments about the All American Day as I am one of the the organisers of the event and a member of the Mustang Club in NSW.
This event is strongly supported by the Mustang Club as we have been involved with it in some since day one, 22 years ago.
I agree with many of you that the Mustang started out as a dressed up Falcon and was mass produced but something happenned over the past forty one years that has made it very popular with some extremely desirable models reaching cult status.
At the show yesterday we had an awesome Boss 429, a number of Boss 302's including a rare 69 model, a GT350H Hertz Rent-a-Racer, GT500 and a brand new "Gone in 60 seconds" Eleanor.
Of course there were some stunning cars from other manufacturers including a Super Stock Dodge, strong support from the Camaro/Firebird club and plenty of Chevs, Corvettes etc.
In fact I think we had a bit of everything.
No matter which marque you like, the idea of the day is to get ALL American car enthusists together to enjoy our common passion, and to raise money for Westmead Childrens Hospital.
Over the past 10 years we have donated over $40,000 to this worthy cause.
Thank you to all who support the movement in general and our show in particular.
David
