Hi all,
Myself and a few mates are heading to the Grand Prix this year and figured after 7 years we'd get a grandstand seat.
Just after some advice on which are the best stands to sit in and whether to sit down the front or more towards the back.
I dont think we will be going in either the Brabham or Jones stands (too expensive).
Cheers

You can't beat being on the main straight - you'll be "in" more of the action.
Seeing the mechanics preparing the cars, really builds things up for the
practice & qualifying.
You won't be able to get something near the start/finish line (they'll be sold
out), so you can either go before and see the pits, or just after and get to see
more of action after the race starts and they charge for the first corner. If
you are after the start/finish, then the cars are near their top speed also
adding to the feeling.
Keep in mind the Fangio stand is very long, so you really need to look at a map
to determine where the screens/pits are.
Also, a lot of the jets fly along the main straight. And you get to see things
like the presentations and drivers photo. Yeah, they are small things, but it
all adds to the experience.
Hope you enjoy it

Yupe, the main straight is the place to be - as close to the start/finish as
possible and preferably slightly elevated. I once scored such a seat at the
Malaysian GP and it was fucking awesome right thru-out the entire 3-4 day
programme.
When I save up enuff $$, I am gonna do it again :)

Only been to on Grand Prix, and my arse was luxuriating in the Ferrari
section of the paddock club.
Looked to me like the punters in the stands had the best view from about
midway down, most of them at the back were upstanding and using binos to get
any sort of decent view of the action.
