Regional Digital...not so good

I have recently joined the 21st century and am somewhat dissapointed with
the lack of content that the broadcasters are dishing out to regional (NSW)
viewers. Can anyone tell me when we will see some of the advanatages of
having a set top box (except the obvious reception advantages)?

well, in march abc is starting a second channel, that I think will be
digital only (I assume this will be national) ... so you could call that an
advantage.

picture quality and widescreen availability are main advantages.
Having said that I have pratically stopped using my STB except for SBS which
is crap normally.
(Can't wait for the footy)

Channel 9 cricket and Channel 7 tennis have extra channels with replays and
stats respectively. There may be more features available if you have an
interactive STB.
SBS has a news only channel in various languages.
