Save 50 bucks and get the LG DF8900P
Its a better player than the Pioneer and apart from SACD has extra
features like memory card support .
The LG also doesnt suffer from the problem with some Xvids playing
jerky on players like the Pioneer and Zensonic.

It's only some xvids, you jsut may have not come across them, something to
do with packed pixels. MpegModifier4 can unpack them for you. Bit of a
pain though, maybe we'll get a firmware update one day.

Google of Mpegmodifier4 shows up nothing, do you have any info on this?

Does it do DD/DTS decoding on board?

The program is mpeg4 modifier, try this link:
http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=MPEG4_Modifier
Use this tool to unpack the bitstream and check the video info. Only
takes a few minutes to unpack a 350mB file.
If the .avi uses GMC warp point 3 or more it will lock up on the
Zensonic. I assume the pioneer must use the same chipset.
I've had this happen on one .avi and had to re-encode the .avi as an
xvid with GMC and packed bitstream turned off in the xvid encoder setup.
I used the Gordian Knot rippack for this, time consuming but it worked.
Have a look at doom9.net or afterdawn for help, tools, forums etc.
Also have at look at the zensonic website forums (quite helpful).
Cheers

Thanks mate. Not alot of info for the Pioneer, most people bought it for
its SACD/DVDA ability (Me too;-). Xvid is a nice thought tho.
