Hi ,

My friend recently purchased a Tevion DVD Player from Aldi. Model is TE - 0603. Later we realised that the DVD is not region free (or so we think because it is not mentioned anywhere).

As we had already purchased it we thought that we would look up on the net to get the code for making the DVD player play multi zone discs :(

We searched the net using Google but to our utter dismay we could not find any information on this model of Tevion DVD player

As my friend is planning to take it back home (India), we would like to know whether anybody can help us out with more information like -- can we make the player play multi zone discs, or where can we find information on the Tevion DVD players.

Thank you very much....

Ive looked on the net for you and I can only find a hack for Tevion - 200 here is the link. Cant find it for you specific model.

I suggest trying to search your Tevion model via just the model number. Do a google search just for the model number and you may find that the model comes up as a different brand. For instance, Tevion is released sometimes as Ellion in Europe/UK. Exact same player, just has Ellion instead of Tevion on the player. If you find the model, then do a search at http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/info/multiregion/
They have the codes to change the player to multi region, and it does work, from my own personal experience.
Good luck and let me know how you go.

We also purchased a Tevion from Aldi ... It was the Complete Home Theatre System Model TEV2023B ... There is no mention of whether it is region free on the box or in the instruction manual ... however there is a region 4 symbol on the back of the player ... to our surprise it plays all the DVD's we have and some are region 1 NTSC

Search for Tevion. There isn't one that matches your model but a lot of them use the same hack so you might have some luck with it anyway.

Hello all,
Sorry for the (mildly) off topic post, but I found this forum while looking for this code, so just in case someone else follows my path...
I recently purchased a Tevion TEV 530S DVD Recorder from a local Aldi store down here in Australia and was not happy to find that it was not region free out of the box. After asking in the store for the code (with no luck), I gave the tech support a call and they bestowed the Multi-Region code unto me:

1) Power on unit with no disk in the tray, wait for it to indicate that there is no disk.
2) Type 7
3) Type 7
4) Type 0

You should now get a message indicating "Region: 0". Congratulations, you now have a region-free/multi-region DVD recorder that is 110-240v and activity converts between PAL and NTSC (and SEACAM I believe, though I've not tested it).
I'd imagine that you could type "77x", where "x" is the region you want to set (1 for USA, 4 for Oz, etc), but I've not tried it. Anyway, enjoy!!

Hi Campbeln

Out of interest, what are your feelings/evaluations of this recorder?

My local Aldi has 3 left, boxes open and damaged, discounted to $349 ....

I figure I might wait for a HDD version though.
