7. This week's top 50:

A couple of weeks ago the charts were rejuvenated with 12 new hits
into the top 50, and a record-breaking 6 of them landing straight
into the top 10. However, since then, the number of debuts has
dropped - down to 6 last week and this week only 4 new hits
enter the top 50 for the first time. Now this isn't totally a
bad thing as it gives that huge wave of new singles to settle
down and notch up some decent charting weeks before another batch
of new singles comes along to displace them out of the chart.

Australia's biggest selling single of the week goes to Nelly.
His collaboration with country singer Tim McGraw, "Over And Over",
finally climbs from number 2 to one in its third week of release,
giving Nelly his third chart-topping single. The single that
spent the last two weeks at number one, Nitty's "Nasty Girl",
slips back to number 2 this week. Snoop Dogg's "Drop It Like
It's Hot" re-enters the top 5, while last week's highest new
entry, Eminem's "Like Toy Soldiers", dives from number 4 to 8.
Two new entries into the top 10 sees Green Day's "Boulevard Of
Broken Dreams" and Delta Goodrem's "Mistaken Identity" drop out
of this week's top 10. And speaking of Delta, she has just scored
simultaneous top 3 hits in both the U.K. and Ireland with "Almost
Here" - a duet with her new lover, Brian McFadden, formerly of
the group Westlife.

3. SINCE YOU'VE BEEN GONE - Kelly Clarkson
This week's highest new entry comes from the winner of 2002's
American Idol series, Kelly Clarkson. Her debut single release
in Australia, "Miss Independent", went top 3 in late 2003,
while the follow-up singles "Low" and "The Trouble With Love Is",
both taken from her album "Thankful", each peaked at number 11.
Late last year, Kelly returned with her new album "Breakaway",
and the title track went top 10 on the singles chart. The
latest single to be lifted off "Breakaway" is the track
"Since You've Been Gone" which becomes this week's highest
new entry and storms into the chart at number 3. This becomes
her equal highest charting single ever and proves that there is
much life left in this Idol winner.

10. LA LA - Ashlee Simpson
Ashlee Simpson, the younger sister of the successful musical
artist Jessica Simpson, had a bit of a hiccup with her last
single. Back in August last year she released her debut single,
"Pieces Of Me" which received huge radio support and resulted in
the single peaking at number 7 and enjoying an impressive 16
week run in the top 50. However her follow-up single, the track
"Shadow", debuted at number 31 and then began a rapid descent
right out of the top 50. This week Ashlee as turned things
right back around again with her third single, "La La", which
crashes straight into the top 10 at number 10. Hopefully
the success of "La La" will re-ignite interest in her album
"Autobiography" which debuted at number 40 in September
last year and was never seen in the top 50 since.

18. NASTY GIRL - Inaya Day
American dance diva, Inaya Day, became well known in Australia
when she collaborated with Australian producer, DJ and song-writer
Mr Timothy on the track "I Am Tha 1" which went top 30 in
the middle of last year. This week Inaya releases the
single "Nasty Girl" which was written by Prince and was
formerly a hit in the 1980s for Vanity 6. The "Nasty Girl"
single features 6 versions of the song, including remixes by
Mousse T and Mr Timothy, and debuts at number 18 this week.
There is also another song titled "Nasty Girl" in this week's
top 50 - that being the one by Nitty, although it is a totally
different song. So when was the last time we had two singles
with the same title in the top 50? We only need to go back
to last year when both Beyonce and Big Brovaz charted with
"Baby Boy".

29. MY BOYFRIEND'S BACK - The Spazzys
This week's final new entry comes from Melbourne punk group,
The Spazzys. Kat, Lucy and Alice are the three female members
of the group and they have been performing live at venues in
Melbourne since finishing high school. Unfortunately none of
of their singles up until now has made the top 50, but the
group did come close in April last year when "Paco Doesn't
Love Me" debuted at number 65. But all that changes this week.
The Spazzys have recorded a cover of the 1960s hit "My
Boyfriend's Back" by The Angels (not the Australian rock
group!). This single gained instant radio airplay and
finally gives the Spazzys nation-wide exposure and
a number 29 single this week. Check out the Spazzys'
web site at http://www.spazzys.com/.

9. This week's feature song lyrics

---------------------------------------
SINCE YOU'VE BEEN GONE - Kelly Clarkson
---------------------------------------
Here's the thing we started off friends
It was cool but it was all pretend
Yeah yeah
Since you've been gone

You dedicated you took the time
Wasn't long till I called you mine
Yeah Yeah
Since you've been gone

And all you'd ever hear me say
Is how I pictured me with you
That's all you'd ever hear me say

But since you've been gone
I can breathe for the first time
Im so movin on
Yeah yeah
Thanks to you
Now I get
What I want
Since you've been gone

How can I put it? you put me on
I even fell for that stupid love song
Yeah yeah
Since you've been gone

How come I never hear you say
I just wanna be with you
I guess you never felt that way

But since you've been gone
I can breathe for the first time
Im so movin on
Yeah yeah
Thanks to you
Now I get
I get what I want
Since you've been gone

You had your chance you blew it
Out of sight, out of mind
Shut your mouth I just can't take it
Again and again and again and again

Since you've been gone
I can breathe for the first time
Im so movin on
Yeah yeah
Thanks to you (thanks to you)
Now I get
I get what I want
I can breathe for the first time
Im so movin on
Yeah yeah
Thanks to you (thanks to you)
Now I get (I get)
You should know (you should know)
That I get
I get what I want
Since you've been gone
Since you've been gone
Since you've been gone

LA LA - Ashlee Simpson
----------------------
You can dress me up in diamonds
You can dress me up in dirt
You can throw me like a line-man
I like it better when it hurts

Oh, I have waited here for you
I have waited

You make me wanna la la
in the kitchen on the floor
I'll be a french maid
Where I'll meet you at the door
I'm like an alley cat
Drink the milk up, I want more
You make me wanna
You make me wanna scream

You can meet me on an aero-plane
Or in the back of the bus
You can throw me like a boomerang
I'll come back and beat you up

Oh, I have waited here for you
Dont, keep me waiting

You make me wanna la la
in the kitchen on the floor
I'll be a french maid
Where I'll meet you at the door
I'm like an alley cat
Drink the milk up, I want more
You make me wanna

You make me wanna la la
in the kitchen on the floor
I'll be a french maid
Where I'll meet you at the door
I'm like an alley cat
Drink the milk up, I want more
You make me wanna
You make me wanna scream

I feel safe with you
I can be myself tonight
It's alright, with you
Cuz you hold, my secrets tight
You do, You do

You make me wanna la la, la la la, la la, la la la la la la la la la
You make me wanna la la, la la la la

You make me wanna la la
in the kitchen on the floor
I'll be a french maid
When I'll meet you at the door
I'm like an alley cat
Drink the milk up, I want more
You make me wanna
You make me wanna la la
in the kitchen on the floor
I'll be a french maid
Where I'll meet you at the door
I'm like an alley cat
Drink the milk up, I want more
You make me wanna
You make me wanna scream

You make me wanna la la, la la la, la la, la la la la la la la la la
You make me wanna la la, la la la la
You make me wanna la la, la la la, la la, la la la la la la la la la
You make me wanna la la, la la la la
You make me wanna la la, la la la, la la, la la la la la la la la la
You make me wanna la la, la la la la

MY BOYFRIEND'S BACK - The Spazzys
---------------------------------
My boyfriend's back and you're gonna be in trouble
Hey lah, hey lah, my boyfriend's back
When you see him coming better cut off on the double
Hey lah, hey lah, my boyfriend's back
You've be spreading lies that I was untrue
Hey lah, hey lah, my boyfriend's back
So look out now because he's coming after you
Hey lah, hey lah, my boyfriend's back

Yeah he knows what you've been trying
And he knows that you've been lying

He's been gone for such a long time
Hey lah, hey lah, my boyfriend's back
But now he's back and things'll be fine
Hey lah, hey lah, my boyfriend's back
You're gonna be sorry you were ever born
Hey lah, hey lah, my boyfriend's back
Coz he's kinda big and he's awful strong
Hey lah, hey lah, my boyfriend's back

And I can see him coming
So you'd better start running

What made you think he'd believe all you lies
You're a big man now, but he'll cut you down to size
Wait and see

My boyfriend's back, he's gonna save my reputation
Hey lah, hey lah, my boyfriend's back
If I were you I'd take a permanent vacation
Hey lah, hey lah, my boyfriend's back

Yeah he knows I wasn't cheating
And you're gonna get a beating
Whoooooh, Whoooooh
Whoooooh, Whoooooh
Wait and see

My boyfriend's back he's gonna save my reputation
Hey lah, hey lah, my boyfriend's back
If I were you I'd take a permanent vacation
Hey lah, hey lah, my boyfriend's back

Yeah my boyfriend's back
Yeah, yeah my boyfriend's back
Yeah my boyfriend's back
Yeah, yeah my boyfriend's back
Yeah my boyfriend's back
Yeah, yeah my boyfriend's back
Yeah my boyfriend's back
Yeah, yeah my boyfriend's back
