I have the topfield 4000T set top box and am located in Sydney.
When displaying the 10 current information / guide it displays incorrect
information
Ie it should be showing the current program 9.30pm-10.30pm Rove Live but
instead shows current program as 5.30am - 5.59am EP 3843 Next program.
6.00am - 6.28am Totally Wild. even though the current time is 10pm
Just wondering if anybody else is not getting the correct NOW and NEXT
informaton for channel 10.
Wondering if its a Ten transmision promblem or the STB not picking up
correct information?

Hi,
Easy fix for this. The time broadcast by the stations is GMT. You need to go
into the menus and set the time offset to 10:00 hours in the time offset. I
have done this of the Topfield5000PvrT and it fixed this problem and I
assume it would be similiar for the 4000.

Often TEN does stop sending Now&Next (usually this happens on the weekends
and takes till mid Monday to fix when it happens), so you end up with the 2
first programmes of the day as the symptoms. I don't get visibility of
this anymore, as I am permanently running the EPG_uploader TAP for the
TF5000 which basically ditches the useless now and next information, and
instead feeds the TF5000PVRt a full 7days worth of guide on every channel
(well, every channel that has a normal Yourtv/NineMSN/etc guide built up for
it).

Where does the EPG_uploader TAP source this data from?
Cheers, Robert.

It uses a hacked javaXMLTV, I shouldn't really say more here.

I have to agree, thanks to the combined efforts of 3 or 4 people (and
Topfield adding the EIT table additions to their API/code) this was able to
be achieved.
Particularly PeterU for churning out the java stuff in seemingly minutes
(and driving the original direction for the TGD format, making my job, the
Toppy TAP, the easy bit), JS for his initial automated uploader and
"tfSeasonPass", now John Trapper for his uploader and timer creater based
on key words that uses FTP (or the Topfield FTPD for those still using a
direct USB connection... I now have a SLUG/NSLU2 mounted near the Toppy,
and I ftp the EPG info to the SLUG, which has a cron to automatically upload
this info to the Toppy using PeterU's "puppy" on a regular basis, now if
only I can get rid of the video and serial cable still strewn across the
room, it will be a neat setup!)
Cheers

No suprise really - 10's concept of time differs from reality quite
markedly. It's often 8:29PM on a Sunday night for a good 15 minutes on
Channel 10. I could swear that it's 8:44PM & Criminal Intent should be on,
but it's amazingly it's still Big Brother or Aus Idol showing.
So, in answer to your question, yes, everyody gets the wrong Now & Next info
from 10, but not necessarily in the way your describing.
