Hello-
This afternoon I wanted to do something in safe mode so I ran msconfig,
clicked on the "boot.ini" tab and turned on "boot in safe mode". After
restarting, before Windows started I got an error message saying Windows
could not start due to an unexpected error. I was given the option to start
in safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt, last
known good configuration, and start Windows normally. I clicked on all 5 and
they do not work; they simply reboot the computer, give me that error message
and present me with the same 5 options. What can I do to fix this and get
Windows back up?

I'm sorry, I forgot to include the fact that I am using Windows XP Home
Edition.

choose the option that says not to reboot on system failure (or something
like that). it's on the same menu. I see a pattern starting here, several
people having the same problem all of a sudden.... oh oh...

Nope, I don't have that option. Only five, and I had a typo in my first
post--I can't really click on things, I'm only on the DOS-like prompt. Ouch...
