I posted a few days back regarding my LP RPTV and my Yamaha amp. I've gone
out and purchased a Scart to Component cable, plugged it into my component
inputs on my TV and have had no problem with Component 1 receiving a
picture. To be honest I can't tell any difference in quality, but the lead
and the new YUV option within the Foxtel setup does work.
My question is this. My TV is a LG 111cm RT-44NZ21RB RPTV with inputs on
the back 'Component 1 480i' and 'Component 2 480p'. I know 'i' means
interlaced and 'p' means progressive but what does that 'really' mean. I
also have a Toshiba DVD player which I had to remove to plug Foxtel in. So
basically what can I plug into Component 2? As it stands I have to unplug
Foxtel to watch a DVD if I want to use Component.
But, like I said, I can't notice any difference in picture quality between
Component and RCA anyway, I can only guess that's because it's a RPTV?
Thanks again to all the technos who help!
